SCOUTING THE COMPETITION TEXAS LONGHORNS Texas enters into the two-game series with a 24-9 overall record and 3-0 mark in Big 12 play. The Longhorns are coming off of a come from behind victory against Houston on Wednesday evening. Houston owned 10-3 lead heading into the top of the fifth inning before the Longhorns rattled off 10 runs in the final three innings to top the Cougars by a score of 13-12. The Longhorns and the Cougars combined for 26 hits in the seven inning contest and four errors. As a team, Texas is hitting .308 and has hit 33 home runs so far this season. Stephanie Wong leads the way at the plate for the Longhorns, averaging .380 with a team-high 38 hits. Lindsey Stephens has recorded a team-high 10 home runs this season and leads the team with a .713 slugging percentage. Erica Wright, the sister of Bobcat pitcher Ashley Wright, is one of the leaders in the circle for Texas. Wright has pitched a team-high 101.1 innings and has struck out 98. She owns a 2.43 ERA and a 10-4 overall record. The Longhorns are under the direction of head coach Connie Clark.

LAST TIME OUT FOR TXST Texas State is coming off of a 1-0 shutout against Incarnate Word on Wednesday evening. Freshman pitcher Randi Rupp struck out 14 en route to her nation-leading eighth shutout of the 2015 season. She has now struck out 206 batters, a mark that ranks her fourth in the country. NO-HITTER, NO PROBLEM Randi Rupp struck out 11 and was just a hit by pitch away from a perfect game, leading Texas State to its first no-hitter since 2012 against UL Monroe on March 23, 2015. That was the fourth game this season that Rupp had struck out double-digit batters. She has now done it FIVE times with a total of 206 on the year. MAKE THAT TWO! With a 5-for-6 showing with five RBI and four walks against Georgia Southern, junior Kendall Wiley earned her second Player of the Week nod of the season. Her POW against the Eagles was the third time this season that a Bobcat had been recognized. Her first POW honor came at the Madeira Beach Classic where Wiley was the offensive spark for Texas State after launching six home
