A LOOK AT THE COMPETITION - APP STATE Appalachian State, along with Texas State, is one of three teams who opened the conference season with a perfect 2-0 record.

In 11 contests, Appalachian State has scored 19 goals for an average of 1.73 goals per game.

2013 REVIEW With a debut in its third conference in as many seasons, the Texas State Soccer team found its way to the semifinal match of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and an 8-9-2 overall record.

Sam Childress leads the Mountaineers with four goals on 20 shots. Nicole Steyl leads the squad in assists with four.

The 2013 Bobcats set a program record for most overtime contests in a single season with six, of which only one resulted in a victory.

Megan Roberson has put in the majority of the minutes in goal for the Mountaineers with just over 861. She has a .735 save percentage while allowing 13 goals.

Texas State finished the 2013 non-conference schedule with a 3-5-1 record, picking up home victories against Prairie View A&M and Sam Houston State while defeating Northwestern State on the road in the season opener.

The Mountaineers have a 5-6-0 overall record.

Sarah Strickland is the head coach of the Mountaineers and is currently in her fifth season at Appalachian State. LAST TIME OUT - APPALACHIAN STATE Sunday’s contest marks the first ever meeting between the Bobcats and the Mountaineers.

Kat Conner is seeking her 164th career victory against Appalachian State on Sunday afternoon. She has been the sole coach for the Texas State Soccer program.

QUICK BOBCAT FACTS The Bobcats are off to the best start since the 2000 season with a 7-3-1 overall record. Against Arkansas State, senior Tori Hale recorded her 17th career assist which ties the program career record that was previously set by Britney Curry, the older sister of current forward Lynsey Curry.

The Bobcats started the conference schedule on the right foot, posting a 2-0-1 record through the first three contests, including the team’s first ever Sun Belt Conference victory on the road against Troy. After the timely victory against Troy in the quarterfinal game, the Bobcats were matched up against a Western Kentucky squad who previously defeated them in the final moments of a double-overtime contest earlier in the season. With 88 minutes of scoreless action, the Lady Toppers capitalized in the 89th minute to defeat Texas State, 1-0. Tori Hale finished the season named Second-Team AllConference along with teammate Lynsey Curry. Curry finished the season with a team-high seven goals, three of which occurred during conference play. She also led the t leam with 79 total shots and 15 total points. Senior Gabbi Cottee was second on the points list with 14 (5 G, 4 A). Brown also made her mark on the history books at Texas State, becoming the first student-athlete at Texas State to be named to the Sun Belt Leadership Team. The award is given to a letter-winning student-athlete,
