Kryolan cosmetics is a cosmetics company created in Los Angeles as stage and theater makeup. More recently, Kryolan is favored by an emerging community of drag performers and come into the mainstream media and cable television. This catalogue explores the irreverence of night club performers and is dedicated to the eccentric personalities of drag queens everywhere. OBJ E C TI VE

To create and develop a edgy forward, colorful, and vibrant visual system for Kryolan cosmetics. Through brand research and consumer information, a concept of eccentricity is established through vivid color choices and materials with bold imagery and illustration.

Ferrowatt is one of Germany’s oldest and traditional lighting companies that still specialize in vintage light bulb reproductions. I have created a system reminiscent of vintage packaging using the traditional method of letterpress printing to create a visual and tactile packaging system. Original Illustrations differentiate a variety of filaments and styles of bulb, which were burned onto photo sensitive polymer plates and printed on a vandercook SP15 printing press. OBJ E C TI VE

To create a vibrant new package design and system for Ferrowatt Light bulbs. Using traditional and vintage colors and lettering, ferrowatt evokes a sense of nostalgia with a retro flair and a tactile letterpressed finish.

BACKGROUND

Nintendo is a Japanese gaming company with a rich history, its origins date back to the 16th century when they began creating playing cards and organizing underground gambling rings. It wasn’t until the advent of computer gaming that Nintendo begin creating video games that we know today. This branding system incorporates a playful design to bring Nintendo into the future of gaming while paying homage to their roots ; as a brand guide in the form of un bound cards. OBJECTIVE

To create a fun, vibrant, new identity for Nintendo and execute as a branding system. Bright vibrant colors and friendly typefaces are used to showcase nintendo’s commitment to fun.

Toji Sake is a concept brand developed as an innovative packaging experience. The name “Toji� refers to the sake brew master who contain the experience and wisdom of sake making which has been passed down as an age-old tradition spanning hundreds of years. The packaging is meant to invoke nostalgia of traditional Japanese noh masks while looking forward to innovation and futurism. Noh masks of different characters differentiate the variety of sake. To create a new innovative packaging experience for a conceptual sake brand. Toji sake explores new and innovative modeling techniques to create truly unique packaging. A laser cut an etched box houses a 3d printed bottle and sake cup, which also acts as a lid for the bottle.

Portmanteau is a concept brand that contains various products for Gentlemen. A portmanteau is a large trunk or suitcase, typically made of stiff leather and opening into two equal parts. It also is linguistic blend of words, in which parts of multiple words or their phones are combined into a new word. The system is sophisticated, elegant, and masculine with the items contained in a briefcase with gold foil and metallic paper; a combination of elegance and masculinity. O B JE CT I VE

To create a brand and packaging system of beauty and wellness products packaged as a Gentleman’s “survival kit”. Portmanteau uses elegant illustration on metallic paper as well as gold foil on leather to create a juxtaposition of vintage materials with modern elegance.

Strand is a scientific book which observes a quantum world of the particles that make up all matter. by using the analogy of music we can better understand the behavior of these particles. Hikelopedia is a concept app that uses recognition software to identify plants and animals in the wild. Hikelopedia downloads information when the user is connected to wifi and allows for use when in areas that do not have cellular service. The app works off the idea of being able to use your phone anywhere anytime. It is fun and educational and enriches your outdoor activities. O B JE CT I VE

To create a brand and innovative phone app. Hikelopedia can be used anywhere anytime to identify wildlife on the users outdoor adventures. Hikelopedia used nostalgic vintage typography and colors to resemble an old pocket nature guide.

ASTRO GOLF PUTTER

The Astro project is a collaborative project with industrial designer Tomasso Vielmo, to design an interactive packaging system for a unique golf putter. Tomasso designed the putter for the future of golf, and so the packaging reflects a modern space look and feel. The Astro box is designed to be able to unfold and use the box as a putting green to calibrate the putter. OBJECTIVE

To create a brand the Astro Golf Putter. Astro design uses bold colors and mathematical info graphics to be able to calibrate the product when the user opens the packaging.

“Micro//Macro� is a typographic exploration of micro-organisms and the small unseen living creatures all around us. The book acts as a lens in which one can view this microscopic world and better understand the beauty and wonder of a tiny world. Micro / Macro is a book which acts as a living organism, which in the begging, becomes infected and harbors these microorganisms. O B JE CT I VE

To create a scientific coffee table book with a focus on typography to convey a concept. Micro / Macro uses an abstraction of microscopic imagery to explore an otherwise unseen world.
