PROGRAMS WE SUPPORT (Partial List)

Associate and Patient Financial Assistance

St. Anthony Hospital and St. Anthony North Health Campus treat patients regardless of their ability to pay or their coverage status. We believe medically necessary health care services should be accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, geographic location, cultural background, physical mobility or ability to pay. Contributions toward this program provide necessary medication to our patients. Furthermore, we provide financial aid to our associates in times of unforeseen financial crisis.This program allows our community to give-back to the immediate Summit Medical Center family.

Nurse Family Partnership

Our Nurse Family Partnership program helps transform the lives of vulnerable first-time moms and their babies. Through ongoing, bi-weekly home visits that can occur from pregnancy until the baby is two years old, our registered nurses help these moms receive the care they need to have a healthy pregnancy, provide responsible and competent care for their children and become more economically self-sufficient.This is a free service and is funded by a combination of state and federal dollars as well as individual donors. We typically serve 200 moms per year.

Flight For Life Colorado

For 45 years, Flight For Life Colorado has been dedicated to transporting any patient in need, regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. This program serves a nine-state region and has transported more than 125,000 seriously ill and injured patients to the most appropriate hospital for medical care. Donations go towards training, equipment such as helmets, vehicle maintenance, patient care charity and much more.

Forensic Nurse Examiner

A survivor of sexual assault or domestic violence experiences one of the most painful, consuming and frightening events that can happen to a person. The FNE nurses provide the special care needed that begins in the Emergency Department with the forensic exam and continues with support, compassion and advocacy as the patient begins the healing process.

Funding for supplies, training and salaries for nurses are among the items funded by donor contributions.

Nursing Scholarships

There is no greater predictor of successful outcomes for our patients than the skill of the medical professionals who treat those patients.The competition to hire great nurses has never been greater, and St. Anthony Hospital and St. Anthony North Health Campus are committed to create a flagship scholarship program that will help attract entry-level nurses and provide opportunities for them to continue their nursing education while employed.

Breast Care

In partnership with Susan G. Komen Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital provides treatment for low-income uninsured or underinsured breast cancer patients for little to no cost.

Our goal is to ensure that cost is not a barrier to health for the medically underserved.

On average, we provide treatment for 10 patients per year.

Injury Prevention

Injury is the number one trauma that we see in our Emergency Department and many of these injuries are preventable. Through community education, our injury prevention program aims to keep our community members from getting injured in the first place. We host a series of educational seminars in community centers, schools and in partnership with the Fire Department to teach people of all ages how to stay safe, from bike helmet safety to proper use of car seats.

Stepping On

One third of older adults in the United States fall each year. This is the most common cause of admission into our hospitals. The consequences of falls include fractures, head injuries, soft-tissue injuries, loss of mobility, loss of independent living and death. Falls are the leading cause of injury and injury-related deaths among those aged 65 years and older. Stepping On workshops equip patients with the resources and education necessary to avoid future dangers.

They build self-confidence, are highly participative, and motivate self-change. Workshops incorporate a group setting plus individualized follow-up.

Community Garden

We envision our one-acre community garden at St. Anthony North Health Campus to be a gathering place for all members of our community to gather, learn, grow and harvest. Through programming and education, the garden will play a role in helping our community members live healthier lives through learning and participating in the benefits of sustainable food production.

The Community Garden addresses the social, economic, and environmental determinates of health to improve the health of our communities. Funding will go directly towards supplies for building this garden—soil, planter boxes, seed, trees and gardening tools.

Flu Prevention for the Uninsured and Underserved

The Influenza Vaccination program at St. Anthony North seeks to serve 2,000+ people in need of preventive care. The program focuses on the poor, elderly, uninsured and underinsured in the diverse communities surrounding the 84th Avenue campus.

Currently there is no other Influenza Vaccination Program which provides preventive care at zero cost for this number of high-risk people in the North Metro Denver area.

Donor support pays for the vaccines and staff to distribute them.
