JOAN CROOK Joan is one of the most active members of the JC family. Besides having one of the outstanding scholastic records of the freshman class, Jo has time to write features (notably her half of the "Peg and Jo" column) for the Lion's Roar. She is a very acfive member of the Jacque and Jestre, the IRC, and the Numa Staff. Whenever there is a JC activity, from building floats to a party, Jowill.be there working like a "little beaver" for her alma mater.

CAROLYN DOOLY The gal known as the favorite substitute for the coaches is Carolyn. Maybe this is because of her pleasant disposition or because she teaches a gym class every day and perhaps it is a combination of both. She is active in the FTA and Jacque and Jestre, and serves as secretary of IRC. Carolyn served as Vice-President of the student body and had charge of the assemblies for the first semester. On top of all this she worked as an assistant to Mrs. Lloyd in the JC office.

48

MARY CATHERINE HALL Everyone in JC knows Katie as the very talented girl from Alma. Katie plays both the organ and the piano expertly. Naturally she belongs to the Music Guild and she also serves as the secretary. She was elected "Most Talented Girl" by the students. Katie is also a member of the FTA. Wherever she is she has a smile for everyone who happens to pass by. She could easily be called "free advertising" for the spirit of JC.

ANNE KASTEN Anne is one of the two returning members of Phi Theta Kappa. Her scholastic abilities won her the title of "Most Studious Girl" last year, and she could easily be classed most studious again this year. Anne served as secretary of the sophomore class for the first semester and was chairman of the radio committee. She is secretary of the IRC and was a delegate to the IRC convention at Oklahoma A and M. Ann is one of the most active members of the FTA and the Music Guild. She is known for her outstanding support of all JC activities.

JERRY McGREW

Jerry with his sense of humor is one of the most popular boys in JC. He is a member of the Lion's Roar and Numa Staffs. His outstanding talent in art is evident in the work he has done for the various JC activities. He is a very versatile musician and is always treating JC students with an impromptu show in the corridors between classes.

FAYE RICE

Faye, who is an out-of-town student from Charleston, is an outstanding member of the JC student body. With an eternal smile on her face, Faye is the most popular girl in school. She is secretary of the Student Board and belongs to most of the JC clubs. Faye is serving as president of the Music Guild and the FTA. She is head cheerleader, has an excellent scholastic record and still finds time to work every day selling ice cream and candy in the cafeteria.

PEGGY ROBERSON

Just think of energy plus and that is Peg. No matter what activity is in progress, Peg is there up to her elbows in work. She is a member of the Jacque and Jestre Club, FTA, and IRC. Her co-op column in the Lion's Roar, "Peg and Jo" is one of the most popular features of the paper. Peg is the feature editor for the Numa. Her laugh can be heard in the hall between classes even on the day of finals. Personality -energy-red hair = Peg!

EDWIN SUDDERETH Mr. President. That is the title Sud holds in JC. He is President of the Sophomore Class, IRC, and Jacque and Jestre. Sud is one of those people who can be counted in on any activity sponsored by JC and you can be sure that he will do more than his share of the work. Sud is also an active member of the Music Guild and the FTA.

MARY WAKEFIELD

The gal with the smile is the title given Mary. Even when she is pleading for copy for the Lion's Roar she still has a smile. Besides serving as editor of the Lion's Roar, Mary is a member of the Numa Staff. She is VicePresident of the Music Guild. Whatever is to be done, Mary pitches right in and helps finish the job. She is a very active member of Jacque and Jestre, IRC and FTA.

NANCY YARBROUGH

The prettiest girl in school by popular vote is Nancy. Not only is she pretty, but she has the brains to go with it. She is president of Phi Theta Kappa and is one of its two returning members. Nancy served quite ably as student body president during the first semester. She is one of the cheerleaders for JC. Nancy is an active member of IRC and FTA. On top of this, she is the editor of the Numa, which is a full-time job in itself. All this and still there is time for a smile and a friendly word for everyone.
