At UAlbany we want you to be more than great students. We want you to be informed citizens and engaged members of your communities — and a part of that is being a voter! With elections happening across the county and election day fast approaching, here are some resources to help you get ready to vote.
UAlbany continues to partner with TurboVote, an online platform that has already helped hundreds of thousands of students across the country register to vote, request absentee ballots, and receive reminders about upcoming elections.
Even if you've already registered to vote, you can get assistance with absentee voting, early voting, and sign up for reminders about local, state, and federal elections, so that you never miss an election.
Signing up is easy, so why not do it right now? Click here to get started.
Once you’re registered to vote, there are other ways you can get involved:
• Encourage five friends to register to vote and sign up through TurboVote
• Step up your own registration efforts with your family, friends, and neighbors to make sure everyone you know is registered.
• Spread the word on social media using #UAlbanyVoterRegistrationDay.
• Become familiar with the #GreatDaneDialogue campaign which seeks to center our shared responsibility to thoughtfully engage each other in civil discourse and civic engagement.
• Have questions about voting, visit Albany.edu/vote. You can also visit the UAlbany GO Desk every Tuesday between now and Election Day for voter registration support.
Remember, your voice matters, and voting is one of the most powerful ways to shape the future. Take the first step and register today. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.
Sincerely,
Michael N. Christakis, Ph.D. Vice President for Student Affairs & Enrollment
