Dear UAMS Family, In 1879, eight physicians had a vision to charter a medical school that would train physicians and treat the sick and injured. They each invested $625, a considerable sum at the time, toward this goal. Almost 140 years later that small school has grown to what we now know as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The impact of the investment of those original physicians is almost impossible to measure. Each day we work to further our mission to improve the health and health care of Arkansans. 3. Restricted Bequest If you are considering a bequest but would like to ensure it only be used for your favorite college, institute or program you can designate that in your Will. You can name a specific disease, research program, scholarship fund, college, or give to any other area of interest. 4. Gift Annuity or Charitable Remainder Trust Through a gift annuity or charitable remainder trust you can give an asset now and receive income back for your lifetime. The remainder will benefit UAMS at your passing.
