PO RTFO L IO & AU DI T IO N OV ERV IE W The following is a brief and general overview of portfolio and audition requirements. Detailed information about specific portfolio and audition requirements can be found on our website at uarts.edu/creativerequirements.

ART, MEDIA + DESIGN

A portfolio should consist of 15 to 20 examples of original artwork that represents your experiences and interests while showcasing your creativity, the skills and media you have learned, and your ability to communicate ideas. If submitting time-based work (animation, film/video, or interactive media), you may submit a minimum of 2 pieces. DANCE

The solo dance should last two minutes and may be choreographed by the applicant or someone else. Musical accompaniment, if any, must be provided by the applicant on a CD or iPod.

226

Applicants should prepare two monologues. The combined time should not exceed three minutes. Choose monologues that inspire you, are contrasting and help us meet you as an artist. MUSICAL THE ATER

Applicants should prepare two monologues and two songs. Choose material that inspires you and is contrasting in character, style or tone. Musical theater selections should be presented in 32-bar cuts (or excerpts of approximately one minute in length). THEATER DESIGN + TECHNOLOGY
