ART, MEDIA + DESIGN
A portfolio should consist of 15 to 20 examples of original artwork that represents your experiences and interests while showcasing your creativity, the skills and media you have learned, and your ability to communicate ideas. If submitting time-based work (animation, film/video, or interactive media), you may submit a minimum of 2 pieces. DANCE
The audition consists of two main parts: a class combining techniques, which will include ballet, modern, improvisation, jazz and hip-hop, followed by a solo dance presentation. The solo dance should last two minutes and may be choreographed by the applicant or someone else. Musical accompaniment, if any, must be provided by the applicant on a CD or iPod.

Applicants should prepare two monologues. The combined time should not exceed three minutes. Choose monologues that inspire you, are contrasting and help us meet you as an artist. MUSICAL THE ATER
Applicants should prepare two monologues and two songs. Choose material that inspires you and is contrasting in character, style or tone. Musical theater selections should be presented in 32-bar cuts (or excerpts of approximately one minute in length). THEATER DESIGN + TECHNOLOGY
Applicants must complete an interview and are required to bring a resume and a collection of visual and graphic material that demonstrates your experience and potential in the field.
DIRECTING, PL AY WRITING + PRODUCTION
Applicants should submit a resume and a portfolio of work, which may include an original script; a production book; models and/or renderings of set, costume or lighting designs; examples of publicity and program design; or video tapes of productions. INSTRUMENTAL PERFORMANCE
Audition requirements differ based on instrument but generally require applicants to demonstrate an understanding of major and minor scales, a prepared piece, an ability to improvise, and sightreading. VOCAL PERFORMANCE
All applicants must perform three selections total representing at least two of the following styles: classical song in English, jazz, musical theater or classical song in a foreign language. Sightreading will also be tested.
MUSIC COMPOSITION
Applicants must submit a portfolio of six original compositions. Pieces may be vocal, instrumental or MIDI, and should demonstrate the applicant’s best work in a variety of styles. MUSIC BUSINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP + TECHNOLOGY
Applicants are required to submit an essay and to bring a portfolio of their work to the interview. Applicants must also submit transcripts prior to or on the scheduled interview date. LIBERAL ARTS
Creative Writing and Writing for Film + Television applicants must submit a portfolio of writing samples. Creative Writing applicants must also complete an essay describing “an important window”.
