How to turn your ideas into art... Turning your ideas into reality is simple when you follow these six easy steps: Step (1) Pick the area you want to cover and measure it. This area should be flat walls with a smooth finish. If in any doubt about the quality of the wall, it is best to get an expert to take a look and give you an informed opinion. Step (2) Roughly sketch your ideas out and send them along with any digital files you want used to us here at Brand. Step (3) You will receive a proof showing an estimation of the finished design. Where possible, we will also superimpose the design onto supplied photographs to show an in-situ impression of the installed print. At this stage it is easy to make alterations to the design. Step (4) Now that the artwork has been finalised, you need to decide are you or your own contractor installing the print or do you want to use our specialist installers. Step (5) Before installation we will forward you a set of requirements to facilitate a successful outcome. These will include how to clean and prepare the wall and what temperature to have the room at. Step (6) When installed, sit back and enjoy your new artwork.

Frequently asked questions ... How ‘perfect’ does the wall need to be? Most smooth, modern walls are suitable for digital wall covering. If in any doubt it is best to get an expert to take a look and give you an informed opinion. Is a painted surface preferable? Yes, as long as the paint is not a specialised non-stick type, with active ingredients such as Teflon. This would play havoc with the print’s adhesion and possibly cause it to unstick over time. Freshly painted walls are also required to ‘de-gas’ for over two weeks before a successful installation. How long will it last? Under normal circumstances, up to 10 years. Factors that will affect longevity include high humidity, direct sunlight and wear and tear. Brand use only the best quality UV rated products which are tried and tested across Australia. I have a brick wall, can it be covered? Usually yes - using a special ‘conformable’ media, it is possible to cover most bare brick walls. An inspection of the area would be necessary prior to confirmation of this. How long does installation take? As a general guide, two installers can install 1sqm of print per 10 minutes. For example, a wall 6m long by 3m high (18sqm) would take approximately three hours to install. Is the print durable? It will be in a high traffic area. All our prints come with a protective laminate which prevents minor scratching and scuffing. This also gives the artwork a ‘wipe clean’ finish allowing for simple maintenance. Is there a guarantee? We give a 12 month guarantee on the actual artwork and, where we have carried out the installation ourselves, a 12 month guarantee on that too. Do we need to purchase a specialist glue or paste? No. All our print medias come with an adhesive back, ready for installation. Different ratings of adhesive back are available depending on the application. Will installation damage the underlying wall? We are in rented accommodation. As mentioned, there are varieties of adhesive backing available, one being ‘Low-tack’. This allows the print to be removed without causing damage to the surface it is adhered to. However, if there is loose or flaky paint underneath, this may be lifted during removal. The area isn’t too large, could I install it myself? If you confident in your abilities, yes. A Low-Tack backing does allow for some repositioning and the laminated media is quite robust and tear resistant, although if roughly handled it will stretch. To give you an idea of the complexity involved, check out one of the many instructional videos online, for example https://youtu.be/KS9pKfQSa_w What resolution do my digital files need to be? As high resolution as possible or preferably in vector format. Most stock library files and professional photographers files will be adequate. If any doubt, send us a copy for a quick appraisal.
