Empowerment Initiative
Life is not easy in the townships of Port Elizabeth. The shadow of apartheid lingers. People must bear the burdens of HIV/AIDS, unemployment, poverty, discrimination, high infant mortality and sexual violence. Basic health care and education are hard to find. About 50,000 orphaned and vulnerable children live in this area.
