AUTOMATIC MERIT AWARD CONSIDERATION

UCCS automatically reviews students for academic merit awards at the point of admission for eligible first-year and transfer students who have demonstrated strong academic achievement in high school and/or at prior institutions of higher education.

• Chancellor’s Award: Eligible Colorado residents and Western Undergraduate Exchange students receive $10,000 ($2,500 per year)

• Peak Award: Eligible out-of-state residents receive up to $25,000 ($6,250 per year)

FRESHMAN ADMISSION GUIDELINES

Students wishing to attend UCCS upon graduating from high school, and who have not taken college courses after high school, are considered “first-year students.”

High school graduates who took college course work for dual or concurrent credit during high school should still follow our first-year application process.
