Do you have a global or intercultural story to tell? This session will teach you how to tell a personal story about your experience, beyond “it was great.” You will learn some storytelling basics and not-so-basics, including how to hook an audience, build interest and suspense, add color and humor, and deliver a powerful ending. You will also have the opportunity to reflect on your experience, tell your story, and hear other stories.
Come learn distinct ways to write about your global experiences including travel writing, reflective writing, and professional writing. You will explore a variety of tools to communicate your global experience and reflect on your role in our interconnected world. This session will include three short presentations with brief writing practices led by three experienced University Writing Program faculty members and Study Abroad faculty leaders.

Come participate in a fun and creative exercise designed to guide you as you reflect on your global experiences and think about how you will apply them moving forward. Vision boards can serve as a powerful tool for identifying your values and inspiring you to think about the next steps you will take to translate those values into actions. All materials will be provided and participants will leave with a unique and tangible collage.
Take advantage of this interactive workshop where you will collaborate with peers to critically analyze your global experiences as they relate to your identities. Experienced educators will facilitate a discussion of the skills and assets you bring to the table because of your identities, both of which predate and flow from your global experiences. This session will help you reflect on the inherent strengths you have that allow you to navigate intercultural spaces both abroad and at home.
