UCDVO Society is an active and diverse student society. We have members from a huge range of courses and disciplines, from first year to Masters students.
The main aim of Women+ In STEM is supporting and promoting female and nonbinary students in STEM.
We are a fundraising and activism society, passionate about causes both home and abroad. Each year, we pick a charity and fundraise for them. We also organise weekly educational and social events for our members, such as coffee mornings, talks, activism workshops, murder mysteries and pub quizzes.
We aim to raise awareness about the work carried out by UCDVO and to support volunteers. We do this by organising events throughout the year and two awareness campaigns which focus on a specific issue relating to global citizenship and sustainable development. We host many social events talks from activists. 31
We work towards encouraging equal gender representation in STEM, building a crossfaculty community for women+ across UCD and providing our members with key skills and opportunities for their future careers. We go by “women+” to emphasise that we advocate for non-binary students as well as cis and trans women. We also welcome allies of all genders and courses
Feel free to pop by to any of our events, and keep an eye out on our social media!
