 UConn is in its third season as a television partner of

the SNY network. The Huskies have an all-time record of 21-6 (.778) in games televised by SNY. UConn went 11-2 on SNY in 2010-11, 9-4 on the network last year, and is 1-0 this season. Today’s game is one of 13 regular-season games on SNY this season.

 Former UConn coach Jim Calhoun finished his Hall of Fame career with 873 victories (6th all-time) and 1,253 games coached (3rd all-time).

 UP NEXT: UConn will make its 2012-13 XL Center debut

Thursday at 7 p.m., meeting longtime New England opponent New Hampshire. The game will be televised by SNY. UConn is 90-25 against New Hampshire in a series that dates back to 1906-07.

THE GAME: The 21st-ranked University of Connecticut men’s basketball team (4-1) will play just its second home game of the season, entertaining the Stony Brook Seawolves (4-1) at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn. The Huskies are coming off a second-place finish at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, where they defeated Wake Forest and Quinnipiac before falling to to New Mexico, 66-60, in Monday’s championship game. UConn is led by junior guard Shabazz Napier, the current BIG EAST Player of the Week, who is averaging 21.2 points per game, and sophomore Ryan Boatright, who is averaging 13.6 points and 4.6 assists per game. Stony Brook, coached by former UConn captain and assistant coach Steve Pikiell, is 4-1 on the season and coming off an 82-75 home victory over Canisius Saturday afternoon, led by Anthony Jackson’s 21 points.
