THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team faces Seton Hall on Tuesday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by SportsNet New York. The Huskies enter the contest with a record of 12-1 and come off an 83-69 win over St. John’s on December 31 in Hartford, Conn. The Huskies are being paced by All-America candidate Jeremy Lamb at 18.9 points per game and by Bob Cousy Award candidate Shabazz Napier at 14.7 points and 6.6 assists per contest. UConn is ranked No. 9 nationally in the Associated Press poll and No. 9 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 ranking. Seton Hall is 12-2 after a 67-48 victory at home over West Virginia on December 30. UConn owns a 42-18 all-time mark against Seton Hall.

Coach Calhoun will serve game three of his three-game suspension against Seton Hall and will not be on the bench again until the contest at Rutgers on January 7. UConn is 11-9 all-time without Coach Calhoun for the complete game. Connectict is 2-0 in the BIG EAST for the first time since the 2003-04 season. The Huskies started 3-0 in conference play that season and went on to win the BIG EAST Tournament and the NCAA Championship with a 33-6 record. Connecticut has four players averaging double digits for the first time since 2009-10 (Jerome Dyson - 17.2, Kemba Walker - 14.6, Stanley Robinson - 14.5, Gavin Edwards - 10.6).
