THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team faces Cincinnati at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs on Wednesday, January 18, at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by espn2. UConn enters the contest with a record of 14-3 and comes off a 67-53 win over Notre Dame on January 14 at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend. The Huskies are being paced by All-America candidate Jeremy Lamb at 17.9 points per game, Bob Cousy Award candidate Shabazz Napier at 13.9 points and 6.2 assists per contest, and four-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week freshman Andre Drummond at 10.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game. UConn is ranked No. 13 nationally in the Associated Press poll and No. 11 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 ranking. Cincinnati is 14-4 after an 82-78 victory at home against Villanova on January 14. UConn owns a 7-2 all-time mark against Cincinnati.
