THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team faces Notre Dame at the XL Center in Hartford on Sunday, January 29, at noon. The game will be televised by the SNY network. UConn enters the contest with a record of 14-5 overall, 4-3 in the BIG EAST, coming off a 60-57 non-conference loss at Tennessee on January 21. The Huskies are being paced by All-America candidate Jeremy Lamb at 17.9 points per game, Bob Cousy Award candidate Shabazz Napier at 14.8 points and 6.2 assists per contest, and four-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week freshman Andre Drummond at 9.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. UConn is ranked No. 24 nationally in the Associated Press poll and No. 19 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 ranking. Notre Dame is 13-8 overall, 5-3 in the BIG EAST after a 55-42 victory over Seton Hall in Newark on January 25.
