THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team faces No. 2 (AP, USA-ESPN) Syracuse at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn., on Saturday, February 25, at 9 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN as part of College GameDay. UConn enters the contest with a record of 17-10 overall, 7-8 in the BIG EAST, coming off a thrilling 73-70 overtime victory over Villanova on February 20 at the Wells Fargo Center. The Huskies are being paced by All-America candidate Jeremy Lamb at 17.9 points per game, Bob Cousy Award candidate Shabazz Napier at 12.7 points and 5.8 assists per game, freshman Ryan Boatright at 10.2 points per game and four-time BIG EAST Rookie of the Week freshman Andre Drummond at 9.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. UConn is 12-3 at home this season, 4-3 in BIG EAST home games. Syracuse is 28-1 overall and 15-1 in the BIG EAST after a 56-48 win over USF on February 22. The Orange are 8-1 on the road this season, 7-1 in BIG EAST road games.
