UConn is in its fourth season as a television partner of the SNY network. In the past three years, the Huskies have a record of 32-7 (.821) in games televised by SNY. UConn went 11-2 on SNY in 201011, 9-4 on SNY in 2011-12, and 12-1 in 2012-13. Today’s game is the first of five UConn games on SNY this season.
UP NEXT: UConn will open play in the four-game 2K Sports Classic, benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, against Detroit on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Gampel Pavilion at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by SNY. Detroit is the last non-conference team to defeat UConn in Gampel Pavilion, upsetting the Huskies, 67-61, in the second round of the 2011 NIT.

THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team plays its 2013-14 home opener against in-state rival Yale University on Monday at 3 p.m. at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. The game, televised by SNY, is the first half of a unique UConn doubleheader which will also feature the UConn women against Stanford at 7 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion. The Huskies (#18-AP, #19-USA Today) are 1-0 after opening the season last Friday with a 78-77 win over Maryland. The Huskies were led by senior guard Shabazz Napier, with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Senior Niels Giffey had 13 points and sophomore Omar Calhoun added 10. Yale also stands at 1-0 after Saturday’s 93-77 win over Central Connecticut. Sophomore Justin Sears had 26 points and 13 rebounds for the Elis.
