UConn is beginning its 24th season of competition in the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion in Storrs. The Huskies have a record of 143-22 (.867) in the building, 163-24 including exhibition games. Tonight’s game against AIC is the first of eight games the Huskies will host in Gampel Pavilion in 2012-13.

UP NEXT: UConn will play its second and final exhibition game of the 2012-13 season on Sunday, November 4, at the XL Center in Hartford at 1 p.m. against UMass-Lowell. The Huskies begin the regular season on November 9 at Ramstein Air Base in Germany against Michigan State.
THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team opens exhibition play for the 2012-13 season against the Yellow Jackets of American International College. UConn finished the 2011-12 season with a 20-14 overall record, the Huskies’ 16th 20-win season in the last 19 years, and by making their 31st appearance in the NCAA Tournament. AIC, the alma mater of former UConn coach Jim Calhoun, is an NCAA Division II school out of Springfield, Mass. The Yellow Jackets compiled an 8-18 record last season, 6-16 in the Northeast-10 Conference. UCONN IN EXHIBITION GAMES: UConn is 43-6 in exhibition games in the last 26 years (all under Jim Calhoun) and has won 36 exhibitions in a row since bowing to Marathon Oil on Nov. 21, 1993, at Gampel Pavilion. UConn is 5-0 against AIC in exhibition games, topping the Yellow Jackets in 2006-07, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2011-12.
