UP NEXT: UConn will open the 2012-13 regular season in
the Armed Forces Classic on Nov. 9 at Ramstein Air Base in Germany against Michigan State. It is the first time an NCAA Division I game will be played in Europe. The game will be televised by ESPN as part of its Veterans Week.
THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team plays its second and last exhibition game of the 2012-13 season against the River Hawks of UMass Lowell. UConn finished the 2011-12 season with a 20-14 overall record, the Huskies’ 16th 20-win season in the last 19 years, and by making their 31st appearance in the NCAA Tournament. UMass Lowell is a Division II program which is coming off a 19-11 overall season, 13-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference, and by making its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. UCONN IN EXHIBITION GAMES: UConn is 44-6 in exhibition games in the last 26 years (all under Jim Calhoun) and has won 37 exhibitions in a row since bowing to Marathon Oil on Nov. 21, 1993, at Gampel Pavilion. UConn is 2-0 against UMass Lowell in exhibition games, topping the River Hawks 2008-09 and 2009-10.
