THE GAME: The 23rd-ranked University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will challenge Quinnipiac in the semifinals of the 2012 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, played at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. The Huskies are 3-0 on the season after topping Wake Forest, 77-71, in the opening round of the Paradise Jam on Friday night. UConn is led by junior guard Shabazz Napier, averaging 18.0 points per game, sophomore guard Ryan Boatright, averaging 12.7 ppg and 5.3 assists per game, and junior forward Tyler Olander, averaging 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game. Quinnipiac, coached by former UConn assistant coach Tom Moore, stands 2-1 after defeating Iona, 98-92, in overtime Friday night. The Bobcats are led by junior Ike Azotam, averaging 16.3 points per game.
