HUSKY BITES Kevin Ollie is in his fourth season as the 18th head coach of the UConn men’s basketball program, with a career record of 97-43. He reached 50 victories in just two years and he is already fifth on the all-time list of UConn coaching victories. His .693 winning percentage ranks fourth all-time among UConn coaches who have coached more than 20 games and he and Jim Calhoun are the only UConn coaches to win the NCAA championship -- Calhoun in 1999, 2004 and 2011 and Ollie in 2014.
UConn owns a 91-45 (.669) record all-time in games televised by CBS. Over the last
five years plus this year, UConn is 10-3 on CBS. The Huskies went 5-0 on CBS games during the 2010-11 season, 0-2 on CBS during 2011-12, 1-1 on CBS in 2013-14, 2-0 on CBS in 2014-15, and is 2-0 this year, topping Ohio State and Georgetown.
UP NEXT: A victory today would advance UConn to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Championship South Region, where it would meet the survivor of #5 Maryland/#12 S. Dakota St. vs. #4 Cal/#13 Hawaii on March 24 at the Yum! Center in Lousiville, Ky. FOR MORE INFO ON UCONN BASKETBALL PLEASE CONTACT: PHIL CHARDIS Assistant Director of Communications
