TODAY’S GAME The UConn men’s basketball team plays the first of seven regular-season games at the XL Center, entertaining Coppin State University of Baltimore in a non-conference game. The game begins at 4 p.m. and will be televised by SNY. The Huskies (3-3), out to snap a three-game losing streak, are coming off a 45-44 loss to Yale at Gampel Pavilion on Dec. 5, before taking a nineday break for exams. UConn is led by senior guard Ryan Boatright, who tops the Huskies as well as the American Athletic Conference in scoring at 18.3 points per game. He is also averaging a team-leading 4.3 assists per game as well as 5.8 rebounds. Freshman Daniel Hamilton also averages double figures at 12.9 ppg and he and sophomore Kentan Facey share the team lead in rebounding at 6.5 per game. Coppin State (1-8), out of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, will also be trying to break a losing streak of four in a row after dropping a 105-64 decision to Hofstra on Wednesday. The Eagles are led by senior forward Arnold Fripp (11.7 ppg) and senior guard Taariq Cephas (11.1 ppg). All-time series: UConn leads, 5-0 Last UConn win: 87-70, 11/20/11 at XL Center, Hartford, Conn.

HUSKY BITES Kevin Ollie is in his third season as the 18th head coach of the UConn men’s basketball
program, with a career record of 55-21. He is the only head coach in UConn history to reach 50 victories in his first two years and his .724 winning percentage is the best of any coach in UConn history who has coached more than 20 games.
UConn is in its fifth season as a television partner of the SNY network. The Huskies have
a record of 38-8 (.826) in games televised by SNY. UConn went 11-2 on SNY in 2010-11, 9-4 on SNY in 2011-12, 12-1 in 2012-13, 5-0 in 2013-14 and is 1-1 so far in 2014-15. Tonight’s game is the third of five UConn games on SNY this season.
UP NEXT: UConn will play its fourth neutral-site game of the season when it travels to the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J. to challenge nationally-ranked Duke on Thursday, Dec. 18. The game will begin at 8 p.m. and be televised by ESPN. It will be the 10th meeting between the schools, and all but one have been played at neutral sites.
