THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will play its first repeat opponent of the 2013-14 season, meeting Houston in an American Athletic Conference game at Gampel Pavilion on Jan. 30, 2014. The game will begin at 9 p.m. and be televised by the CBS Sports Network. UConn lost to Houston, 75-71, on Dec. 31 at Hofheinz Pavilion. The Huskies (16-4 overall, 4-3 AAC), coming off an 82-71 win at Rutgers, are led by Shabazz Napier, who tops the team in scoring (17.8), rebounding (6.0), assists (5.9) and steals (1.9). DeAndre Daniels (13.4) and Ryan Boatright (12.3) also average in double figures. Houston (11-9, 3-4), coming off a 75-68 loss to SMU, is led in scoring (16.4), rebounding (8.8), blocks (3.2), and steals (1.3) by TaShawn Thomas.
