The UConn men’s basketball team concludes play in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, taking on nationally-ranked Oregon in the tourney’s fifth-sixth place game on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at the Lahaina Civic Center. The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. (EST) tipoff and will be televised on ESPN2. The Huskies (2-3) are coming off a 93-82 win over host school Chaminade in Tuesday’s consolation round game in Maui, surviving a barrage of 14 made three-pointers in 32 attempts by the Silverswords. Through five games, sophomore guard Jalen Adams leads the Huskies in scoring (18.4), while redshirt sophomore Terry Larrier (13.5), redshirt senior Rodney Purvis (12.0) and freshman Alterique Gilbert (10.3) are also in double figures. Senior Amida Brimah is the team’s leader in rebounding (6.2) and blocked shots (3.6), while Adams tops the Huskies in assists (5.8). Oregon (3-2) is coming off a 69-65 overtime win over Tennessee in Tuesday’s consolation round. Senior Chris Boucher (13.8) and junior Dillon Brooks (12.5) are two of four double-figure scorers for the Ducks, while junior Jordan Bell is the top rebounder (8.4) and freshman Payton Pritchard leads in assists (3.0).

HUSKY BITES program, with a career record of 99-47. He reached 50 victories faster than any coach in UConn history and is already fifth on the all-time list of UConn coaching victories. His .678 winning percentage ranks fourth among UConn coaches who have coached over 20 games and he and mentor Jim Calhoun are the only UConn coaches to win the NCAA championship.
UConn is playing its 294th game on ESPN/ESPN2 since 1986-87, the start of the Jim
Calhoun era. The Huskies have a record of 176-117 (.601) in those games, 1-0 this year. Today’s game is the second of 10 regular-season games on ESPN/ESPN2 this season.
