HUSKY BITES Kevin Ollie is in his fourth season as the 18th head coach of the UConn men’s basketball
program, with a career record of 89-39. He reached 50 victories in just two years and he is already sixth on the all-time list of UConn coaching victories. His .695 winning percentage ranks fourth among UConn coaches who have coached more than 20 games and he and Jim Calhoun are the only UConn coaches to win the NCAA championship.
UConn is playing its 285th game on ESPN/ESPN2 since 1986-87, the start of the Jim
Calhoun era. The Huskies have a record of 170-114 (.599) in those games. Tonight’s game is the eighth of 12 regular-season UConn games on ESPN/ESPN2 this season. The Huskies are 3-4 on ESPN/ESPN2 so far this season.
UP NEXT: UConn will return home to Gampel Pavilion for its second meeting of the season against the Golden Hurricane of Tulsa on Saturday, Feb. 13. The game is slated to tip off at 8 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2. UConn bowed to Tulsa, 60-51, earlier this season at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa.
