UP NEXT: Following tonight’s game, UConn will begin BIG EAST Conference play, starting its league season against Marquette at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee on January 1. The game will begin at 8 p.m. and be televised on ESPNU. It will be the first of 18 consecutive BIG EAST games for the Huskies.
THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will take on the University of Washington Huskies, out of the Pac-12 Conference, at the XL Center Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. (ESPN2). It will be the final non-conference game of the season for UConn. The UConn Huskies (9-2) are coming off an 88-73 victory over Fordham on December 21, their third straight win and fifth in six games. UConn has four players averaging double figures, led by junior guard Shabazz Napier (16.8) and sophomore guard Ryan Boatright (16.1). Freshman guard Omar Calhoun (10.9) and sophomore forward DeAndre Daniels (10.1) are also averaging double figures. Washington (8-4), which has won its last four, is led by junior guard C.J. Wilcox (19.6 ppg) and senior center Aziz N’Diaye (9.7 rpg).
