THE GAME: The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team faces West Virginia at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. at 7 p.m. The game will be televised by espn2. UConn enters the contest with a record of 12-3 and comes off a 67-60 defeat at Rutgers on January 7 in Piscataway, N.J. The Huskies are being paced by All-America candidate Jeremy Lamb at 18.2 points per game and by Bob Cousy Award candidate Shabazz Napier at 14.7 points and 6.2 assists per contest. UConn is ranked No. 8 nationally in the Associated Press poll and No. 8 in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 ranking. West Virginia is 12-4 after a 74-62 victory at home against No. 9 Georgetown on January 7. UConn owns a 14-5 all-time mark against West Virginia.
