Message from Dean Wang I am truly inspired by our outstanding diverse and international community of students, faculty, staff and partners. Together, we took the UCR School of Business to new levels of achievement in 2016. We lead nationwide in providing opportunities to minority students, and are ranked first in the country for the most international MBA program. Leveraging our strengths in diversity and international appeal, we continue to build on other key strategic goals, including significantly increasing faculty size, and creating world-class centers of excellence. At the School of Business we are invested in the communities we serve. In this regard, we partner with key business sectors and companies to drive innovation and development in our region, with a particular emphasis on energy, healthcare, banking, and technology. $2.5 Million Gift from the A. 1ST IN INTERNATIONAL

COMPETITION

UCR School of Business fielded two teams of undergraduate and graduate students at the 2016 International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition (ICBSC) in Anaheim, California. This year, we are proud to announce that our teams won Best Overall Performance, Second Best Overall Performance, and second for Best Business Document. During the months before the competition, teams developed product prototypes, strategic business plans, income statements, balance sheets, and annual reports all reviewed by a board of directors. When in Anaheim, teams made quarterly decisions for a “two year period culminating a rigorous presentation, prepared on site to their board of directors. Led by Dr. Sean Jasso, UCR School of Business teams have placed in the top tier wins for four consecutive years participating in ICBSC.

New MBA Post-Graduate Fellowship in Nonprofits Partnering with Springboard, one of the largest consumer credit management nonprofits in the country, who co-sponsor the fellowship, the MBA Post-Graduate Fellowship will support two MBA graduates to work for one year at a non-profit organization. Through the Fellowship Program the University of California Riverside School of Business can make a greater contribution to the community by working with an organization that has helped families in the region send their students to college. The program also aims to give MBA graduates a wider vision for their career paths.

“Business school graduates often see the private sector as the only career avenue after graduating from an MBA Program. Working at a non-profit organization lets them explore potential career paths in the nonprofit sector.” John Mattson Director of the Career Development Center
