CAMPUS UPDATES 2024-25
NEW ACADEMIC SCHOOL
The UC Regents recently approved the creation of the new School of Computing, Information and Data Sciences (SCIDS) at UC San Diego.
SCIDS will bring together more than 50 faculty to teach across 16 disciplines. Serving an estimated 8,000 students, the school will play a key role in advancing data science across all disciplines, as well as advancing state-of-the-art computing applications.
Rajesh Gupta, the current director of UC San Diego’s Halicioğlu Data Science Institute (HDSI), will serve as interim dean of SCIDS.
