The design process was initiated with studies and data collected in Moodabidri Town which showed the exisiting market and its immediate surroundings in a dilapidated state. The initial studies were done in groups and individual proposals were designed
Concept
With the site being at the heart of the city, it needed to add a certain sense of vitality. This was done by creating a pedestrian street, a roadway and 3 plazas which would accentuate the space. Creating green roof and adding trees were essential to bring back lung space and also enhance the street experience.

EXISTING MARKET ZONING
The existing market was studied in detail and a number of flaws were recognized within it and its vicinity - from the goods entry and exit pattern, to traffic congestion on the highway, to zoning of activities, and space for the weekly market. Studies were evaluated with inputs from the vendors and the consumers. The demography was also studied to find out the number of people in and around who rely on this market. This market is the heart and soul of all the commercial activities in this temple town of Moodabidri.

CASE STUDY - SWOT ANALYSIS
MANDAI MARKET PUNE, INDIA The building is radial in form and symmetrical which has easy access ways. The market is well ventilated with large openings. Built-in platforms and storage spaces below them are provided for each vendor. The shops are well zoned according to the goods sold. Multi-level car parks are located beside the market serves well to the facility.

WIND PATTERN
PLAN
PANJIM MARKET GOA, INDIA Well planned market with sufficient lighting throughout. The shops are well zoned. Planning is done in different levels yet all the shops are visually connected from the central area. The vendors are seated on elevated platforms. Commercially, the market operates effectively. The supply and storage of goods is very effective due to its inherent design. Proper provisions for waste disposal is in place.
WIND PATTERN
PLAN
CONCOLIUM MARKET GOA, INDIA The market is well zoned according to the category of goods. The traditional Mangalore roof helps to maintain the temperature of the market. Each unit of the market is well designed which has helped in functioning of the market. The corridors are well lit and well ventilated with sufficient space.
WIND PATTERN
PLAN
Waste disposal system is disorganized and no defined space for disposal and segregation is provided. Since the building is more than 100 years old the lighting system is poor. Public toilets are not provided within the market. The wholesale market is 7kms away from the main market.
Due to the usage of sheet roofing the market is very hot and uncomfortable. Some of the stairwells are dark and unsafe. Insufficient parking provided.
This market is designed for a very small town with very limited population. There is insufficient area for storage of goods.
The market can be revived through proper maintenance and restoration as it is a beautiful architectural building apart from being a traditional ar market. Waste disposal system should be upgraded which will improve the hygiene of the market surroundings. The natural lighting system, like the skylights which are destroyed can be restored for good lighting throughout the market.
Replacement of the roof material and/or providing proper exhaust and cooling systems would make the market place more comfortable and hygienic.
Upgrading exisiting connectivity and road infrastructure to this market will help in development of the market.
Declining consumers due to the improper different vendor publicity, vendor congestion and limited spaces inside the market could lead to other markets and street vendors generating negative business.
Goods supply to the market is from far away locations which may affect the market in emergency situations.
Development of new wholesale market has reduced the income of this market dramatically.

Mangalore 32 Acres 19% Hot and Humid 2015 RCC Structure with laterire infill and green roof About
This campus design was proposed as a Government Engineering Campus which was lacking in the region. This design enabled me to create and understand campus designing at a masterplan level and also details of certain built spaces.
Concept
The concept was derived with the idea of a green future, a more sustainable campus. This being achieved with a small building footprint, natural ventilation and lighting. The use of green roof and technology helps bring down the temperature within buildings in this hot and humid region.

The site is bound by the airport road on its Northern and eastern fringes, making it an important land mark location. The challenge of this project was twofold; one, to create an environment suited for learning & practicing of music, dance lea and drama, while the other is to create public spaces for performances and exhibits of the above performing arts.
Concept
The idea and concept of the design was derived to show case a 21st century contemporary design that would define the future of architecture in Mangalore. The concept of the design was derived from a “Golden Rhombus

The triangles were superimposed on each other, to create differential unique spaces that are free flowing & inspirational and also to bring out the limitless artistic skills encased inside the talented users. The use of extensive Plazas, Courtyards, and open spaces in & around the structures brings a sense of freshness and openness to the design. A water body is amalgamated at the lowest point of the site, to rejuvenate the mind and harvest the perennial and abundant rain water; this is also surrounded by an amphitheater that would be an ideal hangout space which will help boost the users experiences within the site.

Mangalore 2.32 Acres 34% 2.5 Hot and Humid 2014 RCC Structures About
This mixed use development was initiated on a challenging site which was passed on from a shut-down Mangalore Tile factory. Due to its earlier type of business the site is easily accessible and efficiently by road and waterways. The site gave an opportunity to understand and deal with the coastal regulation zone bye-laws, fire safety laws and also exposed us to a detailed land-use map and comprehensive development plan of the city proposed by the Urban Development Authority.
Concept
The idea and concept of the design was derived with respect to the views of the river. Hence the higher income group apartments had balconies extending out further with higher floors and blend with the infinite view of the river and sea beyond.

Mangalore Hot and Humid 2015 About
This project was done by a group of 8 students with the help of an architect Venketesh Pai of Mangalore for the Tourism Department of Karnataka, India. We documented a part of the old building which also was an old Jain Palace. I was assigned as the team leader for this project
A builder approached us and asked us to design a commercial complex in Managlore, it had to maximize his profit by using minimalistic architecture and by using maximum floor area ratios accorded by the Mangalore Urban Development Authority. Some of the facade treatments post the planning stage are shown to the left that were as options to the client. The plans were approved by the client as well as the required authorities
Concept
The concept was to use maximum Floor Area and create a simple plan that would be user friendly. the facade treatments had to be low cost and we decided to create ones with Jali work with small openings allowing natural ventilation and light to pass through.

RECEPTION
We were approached by Summer Sands Resort Mangalore and asked to convert one of their existing cottages into a spa. This was a challenging task as it was a load bearing structure and the walls couldn’t be moved. We worked along with the client’s requirements and came up with this design proposal. The spa is divided into three zones. The saloon area, Massage area and jacuzzi. The backyard is used as a relaxation area with a bathroom. This relaxation area is over looking lush bamboo trees and flowering plants. The walls are cladded with laterite stone which is a regional stone of Mangalore.
