Through spring lifelong learning classes featuring fun and diverse topics

The University of Delaware is proud of its history as one of the earliest and largest lifelong learning programs in the country, hosting Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) programs throughout Delaware.

As a volunteer-driven learning cooperative for adults age 50-plus, UD’s OLLI program has nearly 2,000 active members and offers classes at locations in Dover, Lewes, Newark, Ocean View and Wilmington, as well as online. With volunteer instructors at the heart of the program, the expertise from their professional careers, educational backgrounds, avocations and passions provide the source material for the breadth and depth of OLLI’s class offerings.

While the varied classes are a big draw, members are quick to add that the opportunities for friendship and fun are just as important. “One of the main reasons I like coming to OLLI is the camaraderie,” said one member. Social interaction, volunteer opportunities, extracurricular activities, clubs and more are all part of the vibrant OLLI learning community.

OLLI offers a fun, informal learning environment with a mix of both academic and entertaining subjects, but with none of the stressful ingredients like tests or grades.
