LA LIGUE DE L’ENSEIGNEMENT, UFOLEP AND USEP ARE ORGANIZING THE FIRST
EUROPEAN SPORT CONVENTION WHERE AND WHEN ?
La Ligue de l’enseignement, UFOLEP and USEP are organizing the first European Sport Convention at the University of Strasbourg from 08 to 10 July 2015.
THE AIM ? In cooperation with sports stakeholders on the french national level and ISCA (International Sport and Culture Association) on European level, we are willing to promote the development of a new sports culture inspired and shared by European territories. The challenge ? To build with all stakeholders a new sports culture that will facilitate sport access for all publics and together share the benefits (health, social, ...) of an increased participation in sports.
PARTICIPANTS’ PROFILES Sports movements and associations, non formal and informal movements, educational movements, universities, private schools, health and social institutions, firms... are invited to share their point of view and their expectations to promote the recognition of the educational and social orientations within local policies in Europe. Simultaneous translation into French and English will be available.
STRASBOURG : WHY ? The first European Sport Convention will be organized in Strasbourg, an european capital which is one of the cities with the most innovative sports and culture policy as evidenced by its experiment around medical prescription of sports activities. We want to exchange with our european partners on common issues and anchor our action in Europe.

Rich of 2000 years of history and exchanges, Strasbourg is a symbolic city localized in the heart of Europe. Symbol of a restored peace on a continent shaken by wars and pioneer of European integration, Strasbourg is now the home of the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the European court of Human rights, the general secretary of the Assembly of European regions, the European youth centre and the Ombudsman. The city is a place where democracy and local governance can flourish and innovate. Moreover, in France, Strabourg is one of the city with the most innovative and developped cultural and sport policy, as evidenced by its experiment on exercice prescription.
