ABOUT THE COURSE This is the world’s first postgraduate course that puts brand at the heart of business. A unique collaboration between UEA and professional brand consultants gives students everything they need to become brand leaders. WHERE IT ALL BEGAN The course was created by the Norwich Business School along with Robert Jones; senior strategist who has over 20 years’ experience at the global brand consultancy Wol Olins. By coupling with Peter Schmidt-Hansen, Associate Director of Enterprise, Engagement and External Relations at the UEA, the programme acquired its surefooted foundation from its two Course Leaders.
WHERE IT LEADS TO The course prepares students for diverse roles within the branding industry and beyond, some of which are:
• strategist or account manager in a brand consultancy • planner, account manager or account assistant in an advertising, PR, digital or creative agency
• in-house brand or marketing manager for a business, NGO, charity or social enterprise
• independent consultant working on project based work or internal organisational change initiatives.

The programme covers the theory and practice of branding with an approach that’s both deeply rigorous and highly creative. It’s taught by 9 Norwich Business School faculty members and has the participation of over 30 businesses.

BE A MENTOR
Around half of this year's students have front-line experience in marketing or advertising roles, while a small proportion joined the course straight from a first or second degree course.
Most students this year are looking for consulting or marketing management roles - and several have a longterm ambition to start their own businesses back in their home markets or in the UK.
Each student is paired with a mentor who is a senior practitioner. If you’d like to be a mentor, do let us know. All we ask is that you see your student three times over the course of the academic year - they’ll be thrilled to get the benefit of your experience and ideas.
All students have good quality degrees and excellent English. Those with previous experience have worked in advertising, public relations, graphic design, media, radio, marketing, project management, retail, sales.

OLUWATOBI JOSEPHINE ARAWOLE
Recognised as the first dentist with an MBA in Iran, my home country, and now the first one to study brand leadership globally. As a natural networker I can connect with key players of a given work environment by empathetically understanding their purpose, values and desires. As a creative leader I bring what’s most authentic forward to my team to inspire and deliver excellent results. And as a strategist I position brands through narratives and storytelling.
I believe that celebrating di erences and encouraging truths are the building blocks that better the arsenal of any entity. My undergraduate degree in Intercultural communications with business management rea rmed my love for culture and sparked my interest in branding. Specifically, I am intrigued by cultural theory and its relationship to branding. I’d love to find a position as a brand strategist or creative thinker in a phenomenal firm in London. One where I can learn while building amazing brands and giving back by being a positive catalyst in that company’s culture. My creative outlet is culinary art and the idea of creating art feeds my passion for life.
