Preface Tea for Two is a collection of piano duet arrangements for intermediate level players which is intended to entertain both performers and audiences with occasional humorous touches. This volume will enable duettists to add some well-known “evergreens” to their repertoire which range from the traditional English air Country Gardens, through the music hall years of Daisy Bell and I do Like to be Beside the Seaside to the stylish musical hit song Tea for Two. Stephen Foster’s lovely song Beautiful Dreamer receives a more serious treatment and has been included to offer a moment of calm in an otherwise fairly up-beat and lightweight selection.
Vorwort Tea For Two ist eine Sammlung von Bearbeitungen für Klavier zu vier Händen für Spieler der Mittelstufe. Diese Stücke dienen mit ihren bisweilen sogar humoristischen Momenten zur Unterhaltung sowohl der Interpreten als auch der Zuhörer. Mit diesem Band können die Spieler ihrem Repertoire ein paar wohlbekannte „Evergreens“ hinzufügen, angefangen bei dem alten englischen Air Country Music über die Varieté-Theaterstücke Daisy Bell und I do Like to be Beside the Seaside bis zum stilvollen Musical-Hit Tea For Two. Stephen Fosters reizendes, ernstes Lied Beautiful Dreamer wurde hier aufgenommen, um einen Moment der Ruhe in eine sonst ziemlich rasche und schwungvolle Auswahl einkehren zu lassen.

Ce recueil permettra aux musiciens d’ajouter quelques « classiques » bien connus à leur répertoire, allant de l’air populaire anglais Country Gardens aux années du music hall (Daisy Bell, I do Like to be Beside the Seaside) en passant par un bijou indémodable, Tea for Two. On trouvera un très bel arrangement, plus posé, de la chanson de Stephen Foster Beautiful Dreamer, qui introduit un moment de calme au milieu de morceaux plutôt joyeux et enlevés.
