Soundbreaking: Stories from the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music

Nov. 24,25,26,27 8:00 Anne of Green Gables A new adaptation of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic novel tells the story of Anne Shirley, a precocious orphan placed in the care of uptight Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew, played by acclaimed actor Martin Sheen. Neither the adventurous Anne nor the conservative Marilla could anticipate the profound effect they’d have on each other’s lives. 9:30 Downton Abbey Thanksgiving Marathon Episode Listingsfor the broadcast through Nov. 27 at 9 p.m. Season 1, Episode 1: News of the Titanic’s sinking has just reached Downton Abbey, causing much chaos within the family as Lord Grantham has three daughters and no male heir. Season 1, Episode 2: A sinister stranger barges into the house, demanding to speak to Lord Grantham, and an attractive stranger captivates Mary before setting into motion a chain of events that put the fate of Downton Abbey on even less stable ground. Season 1, Episode 3: The fair has come to town, and with it comes romantic hopes for several Downton Abbey inhabitants. Season 1, Episode 4: At a resplendent garden party, actions and betrayals come home to roost, and important news arrives that dwarfs the issue of inheritance.

Nov. 14-23 at 10 p.m. Season 2, Episode 1: After Bates’ mother dies, he hopes his inheritance will buy him a divorce and allow him to marry Anna, Matthew announces his engagement to Lavinia Swire, and Sybil gets involved in the war effort. Season 2, Episode 2: April 1917. With John still absent, Isobel’s butler Molesley makes a play for Anna but is rejected. Robert gets a new valet, shellshocked ex-soldier Henry Lang, whilst William goes off to war. Season 2, Episode 3: Downton is turned into a convalescent hospital for the war wounded and through circumstances Thomas is given authority in its operation as Anna and Bates are briefly reunited and Branson plots against a heroic general dining at Downton. Season 2, Episode 4: Matthew and William remain missing in France, the mounting tensions between Cora and Isobel results it Isobel’s volunteering for France, Bates returns to Downton, and the servants open a soup kitchen. Season 2. Episode 5: Vera Bates returns, having spent John’s money but with no intention of sticking to their arrangement and planning to make money by selling the story of Lady Mary’s indiscretion to Carlisle’s newspaper. Season 2, Episode 6: An unrecognizable burn victim turns up at the convalescent home claiming to be Mary’s presumed drowned cousin Patrick, Carlisle plans to lure Carson from Downton, and Bates wife reneges on her divorce agreement. Season 2, Episode 7: Ethel confronts her baby’s grandparents, Bates thinks he might have played

a role in his wife’s death, Branson and Sybil elope, and Carlyle tries to recruit Anna to spy on Mary. Season 3, Episode 1: Spring of 1920. Wedding guests descend on Downton Abbey, where disasters threaten. One of which is Cora’s freewheeling American mother, who tries to loosen up her in-laws. Season 3, Episode 2: A conflict between two members of the house staff escalates. Meanwhile, the family tries to impress Martha by planning a lavish dinner party. Season 3, Episode 3: The fate of Downton Abbey hinges on a letter from a dead man. Edith and Sir Anthony face their own fateful moment. Mrs. Hughes confronts a crisis. Season 3, Episode 4: August 1920: Two social revolutions arrive at Downton Abbey and the Irish civil war and the fight for women’s suffrage. A mysterious conspiracy keeps Anna and Bates apart. Season 3, Episode 5: The Crawley family faces its severest test yet. Meanwhile, new faces try to fit into the tight-knit circle of servants. New evidence turns up in a baffling case. Season 3, Episode 6: Things go badly amiss at Downton Abbey. Robert and Cora are not speaking. The servants are shunning Matthew’s mother, Isobel. And Matthew and Robert have fallen out. Bates takes a gamble. Season 3, Episode 7: A vindictive Ms. O’Brien hatches a damaging plot. Edith make a major decision. Matthew has a major plan for changing things, and Tom’s brother pays a visit.


Downton Abbey Thanksgiving Marathon Nov. 24 at 9:30 p.m. - Nov. 27 at 9 p.m. Season 4, Episode 1: Mary is still inconsolable six months after Matthew’s death, Edith agrees to go Germany for Michael’s divorce, Molesley looks for a job, and there is a surprise applicant for Ms. O’Brien’s job. Season 4, Episode 2: An unofficial will from Matthew comes into the family’s hand, Thomas plots against Anna, Rose gets involved in a scrap at a servant’s dance, and Mts. Crawley tries to reconcile Carson and Trigg. Season 4, Episode 3: The Crawleys host a weekend party, their first since the War, and unexpected situations and crises arise. Season 4, Episode 4: Anthony Gillingham returns to Downton to propose to Mary, Edna tries to coerce Tom into marrying her, and Anna will not tell Bates what’s bothering her. Season 4, Episode 5: Mrs. Hughes tells Bates an edited version of Anna’s rape, Edith goes to London to see Michael, Alfred takes a culinary test, and the Countess suspects new employee Pegg of theft and Robert tries to keep a tenant. Season 4, Episode 6: Robert is perturbed when Mary and Tom suggest intensive pig-farming on his land and Evelyn returns with his superior Charles Blake, to assess the viability of estates such as Downton. Season 4, Episode 7: Robert is summoned to America to bail out his reprobate brother-in-law Harold but, after Mrs. Hughes has given her the ‘official’ version of Anna’s rape, Mary steps in to let John stay with his wife with his place being taken by Barrow.

Season 4, Episode 8: Mary turns down a proposal from Anthony, who has broken off his engagement. Mary is alarmed when Rose tells her she is marrying Jack Ross and goes to see the singer. Lady Rosamund plans to take Edith to Switzerland to have her baby and put it up for adoption, but Violet is suspicious. Season 5, Episode 1: Tim Drewe guesses the parentage of Marigold, Mary receives another proposal from Tony, Violet plays matchmaker, Thomas continues to press Baxter for information with blackmail, and a flash fire threatens the mansion. Season 5, Episode 2: James leaves Downton, Mary has a weekend rendezvous with Gillingham, Carson and the Earl disagree for the site of the War memorial, a wireless becomes part of Downton life, and Edith becomes Marigold’s godmother. Season 5, Episode 5: Tom ends his relationship with Sarah, Rose meets a man of Russian descent, Rosamund’s visit to Marigold has consequences, Mrs. Patmore asks advice for her inheritance, and Simon Bricker expresses his love for Cora.

Season 5, Episode 6: Violet’s new maid doesn’t seem to be working out, Kuragin reveals he still loves Violet, Anna realizes Bates’ innocence, and Thomas reveals a secret to Baxter. Season 5, Episode 7: Atticus brings his parents, Edith and her daughter are brought home by Cora, Tom decides to take his daughter to America, Baxter volunteers to testify for Bates, and Isis is dying. Season 5, Episode 8: Kuragin tells Violet he wants to live with her, someone tries to break up the Atticus Rose wedding, Daisy wants to live in London, and Anna is accused of Green’s murder. Season 5, Episode 9: Autumn of 1924. It’s grouse shooting season and Rose’s father-in-law invites the Crawley family to a shooting party in Northumberland. Season 6, Episode 1: Lady Mary’s past catches up with her when an unwelcome visitor delivers an ultimatum, and news about the running of Downton Hospital puts Violet on the warpath. Season 6, Episode 2: What begins as a happy day out for the family and servants ends in panic and leaves Robert with a difficult decision to make. Season 6, Episode 3: An old acquaintance comes to Edith’s aid, while Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes’ big day brings an unexpected arrival. Season 6, Episode 4: Anna and Mary face a crisis and a figure from the past surprises those above and below stairs. Season 6, Episode 5: Violet embroils the Minister of Health in the hospital row, but his visit ends in catastrophe. Mary’s suspicions are aroused. Season 6, Episode 6: Downton Abbey opens its doors to the public for charity, Barrow’s actions are misconstrued, Mary and Henry’s romance blossoms, and tensions between Cora and Violet reach a dramatic climax. Season 6, Episode 7: The family face a shocking turn of events at Brooklands racetrack while Molesley and Daisy are put to the test. Season 6, Episode 8: Romance blossoms but a betrayal of trust threatens the chance of lasting happiness. Thomas considers desperate measures. Season 6, Series Finale: Mary endeavors to build bridges with her sister while Edith’s secret continues to pose a threat. As Henry settles into the role of husband and stepfather, finding his place at Downton proves more difficult.
