Monthly Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to my first newsletter. I’m Tori, your editor for the ‘19-’20 year. Each newsletter, I’ll be asking a board member to submit a monthly welcome. This issue is the first of what I hope will be an incredible way for me to give back to the organization I’ve come to appreciate so much. Enjoy!

EVENTS: WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

We went undefeated for the sand volleyball season! New E-Board took over April 1. Littles met their Bigs April 3. Our new committee chairs were announced April 10. We pied the new and old E-board April 17. Here’s what happened this month in UF CKI. Find the board member: Somewhere in this newsletter, a a picture of a board member is hidden..... Go find it!

March 31 Over 30 CKI members traveled to St. Augustine for a day of service and fellowship. We started off with a trash cleanup by Vilano Bridge and ventured downtown to explore.

April 13 & 20 We went to the beautiful Kanapaha Botanical Gardens to help spread mulch, trim roots and swing like Tarzan from the trees. Volume 11 Issue 1

CKI Picture Day was the first week of April, where we offered free headshots for our members. From Rojanne’s play in the park, Jessie T’s bowling to Sofia’s Circle K, we had a blast celebrating the seniors’ time in CKI. We won the Gator Connect Award at the Student Involvment Awards, which exemplifies our efforts to promote an inclusive environment! DID YOU KNOW? CKIx is June 26-29 in Orlando! Meet CKI’ers from around the world. Registration April 20-May 24 is $300. Page 6

Events

April 11 Good luck posters for finals We gathered at the trusty Reitz Union to make uplifting signs for students to see during finals week.

April 14 Retirement Home for Horses We cleaned up horse pastures to make sure the beauties wouldn’t injure themselves. Afterward, we got to feed them carrots.

April 17 Pie the E-Board This fundraiser allowed members to pie to new and outgoing E-Board with a plate full of shaving cream and a single blueberry. Volume 11 Issue 1

Maddie Fry Madeline “Maddie” Fry is our Lietenant Governor for the ‘19-’20 CKI year. Here she gives some advice: “Start working on things ahead of time.
