The Moon is back in the news. While NASA repeats its tired old mantra (the one about them having 'been there, done that'), and Barack Obama looks to the private sector to take his nation into space, the rising global powers of the world are scrambling over each other in a mad rush to plant their flags on the Earth's nearest neighbour. It seems that the world's newest space powers (China, India, Japan, Israel etc), apart from wanting to assert their dominance in the universe, have other things on their minds -- and planting their flags on the Moon seems to be just the start. China, for example, has stated openly that it wishes to commence mining on the Moon. Apparently there aren't enough resources on this planet to go around, and so we are already having to look elsewhere for the materials to make our cars and our computers and our iPhones. (There's a message in there, somewhere…) The motives of other countries are, unfortunately, not so obvious. It's been speculated that the colonising of the Moon could be the first phase in weaponising it. And what a good idea for our potential conquerors that would be -- permanent weapon arrays, arranged neatly across the lunar surface, pointed constantly at a preferred target and making it very hard for us to sleep at night. Would the rest of the world be able to stop this from happening? Could our next World War be fought in space as the world joins forces to prevent it? Or could another Cold War be just around the corner, replete with spies, sabotage, handcuffs on briefcases, and bombs on launching pads as the world powers struggle over who gets to control space? Whatever the future of the Moon holds, it's not likely to be the kindest of possible futures for our grey neighbour. Mankind has a well-documented history of destroying every environment it touches. The Moon's fate will be a dirty one indeed ramshackle habitats built for efficiency, not beauty; enormous craters excavated for minerals; unbounded rubbish heaps filled with refuse that's simply too expensive to bring home. This could be the reason why our Space Brothers prefer that humanity stays planted firmly on planet Earth -- because we're a dirty, angry, noisy bunch that shoots first and asks questions later…

letters to the
editor
Dear Editor, I have been reading two books. One is 'Abduction' by John E Mack who was a Harvard psychiatrist and professor, who interviewed and hypnotised many abductees (experiencers as he called them). Many of these abductees' descriptions are similar or identical to those described as a DMT experience (see the quotation below). 'Dr. Rick Strassman, while conducting DMT research in the 1990s at the University of New Mexico, advanced the controversial hypothesis that a massive release of DMT from the pineal gland prior to death or near death was the cause of the near death experience (NDE) phenomenon. Several of his test subjects reported NDE-like audio or visual hallucinations. His explanation for this was the possible lack of panic involved in the clinical setting and possible dosage differences between those administered, and those encountered in actual NDE cases. Several subjects also reported contact with 'other beings', alien like, insectoid or reptilian in nature, in highly advanced technological environments where the subjects were 'carried', 'probed', 'tested', 'manipulated', 'dismembered', 'taught', 'loved' and even 'raped' by these 'beings' (one could note the strong similarities of these bodily tests/invasions in other psychedelic experiences throughout time, outlined in Graham Hancock's "Supernatural"). Basing his reasoning on the unreferenced and unsupported statement that all the enzymatic material needed to produce DMT is found in the pineal gland (see evidence in mammals), and moreover in substantially greater concentrations than in any other part of the body, Strassman (p. 69) has speculated that DMT is made in the pineal gland. Currently there is no published reliable scientific evidence supporting this hypothesis and as such, it is merely a hypothesis. “In the 1950s, the endogenous production of psychoactive agents was considered to be a potential explanation for the hallucinatory symptoms of some psychiatric diseases as the transmethylation hypothesis (see also

adrenochrome), though this hypothesis does not account for the natural presence of endogenous DMT in otherwise normal humans, rats and other laboratory animals. “Writers on DMT include Terence McKenna, Jeremy Narby and Graham Hancock. In his writings and speeches, Terence McKenna recounts encounters with entities he sometimes describes as "Self-Transforming Machine Elves" among other phrases. McKenna believed DMT to be a tool that could be used to enhance communication and allow for communication with other-worldly entities. Other users report visitation from external intelligences attempting to impart information.” [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Dimethyltryptamine 'DMT the Spirit Molecule' by Dr Rick Strassman.] From what I can gather from both these writers is that they felt the experiences to be real, and that this might be explained by parallel universes where realities might cross over into our own. In my own OBE experience, another girl was in the room and she saw a bright light while I was whisked off 'out there' and so this means to me that the experience was at least partly physical. Carol Watson Stanthorpe Skies Hi Carol, Regarding the hypothesis that DMT is released upon death...if that were the case wouldn't everyone have an NDE? However NDE researchers find this is not the case. From memory the amount of people in the population who have NDEs is quite low. According to the International Association of Near Death Studies (IANDS) surveys taken in the US, Australia and Germany suggest that 4 to 15 % of the population have had NDEs. While it's possible that DMT is involved in death and other visionary experiences, and this is still unsubstantiated according to the quote, it may be that DMT is the catalyst or 'tool of travel' for visionary
experience, but not the cause. So at this stage of my understanding I agree with McKenna that DMT is the 'tool' that could be used to enhance communication and allow for communication with otherworldly entities. I do think we have an inbuilt 'technology of transcendence' and maybe DMT is part of that. Over the last 10 years I've come to know from my own experiences and the hundreds of people I've interviewed who've reported close encounters that 'something' BIG is definitely going on with the human race. From my own observations I can report that there is definitely a predictable 'personality type' who reports these experiences. They are highly creative and often artistic (including healing practices), their lives have been riddled with paranormal experiences particularly NDEs, OBEs and precognition, they're deeply environmentally conscious, they have a great reverence for life, and are often at different stages of becoming vegetarian or they already are. Many times these changes have occurred after their experience, or the experience has enhanced these possible dormant predispositions. My understanding is that people like these in indigenous cultures have often been called to become shamans. Just because we became westernised and have forgotten who we are, it doesn't mean the 'spirits' stopped calling people to this practice. It's just that today it's more contemporary and takes a slightly different form, one that we have not been taught to recognise. The other possibility is that our western world is slowly being 'shamanized' to restore a planetary balance or sorts. Thanks Carol, you've stimulated me to think about this again. It's an area of research I've been stuck on for years. Thank you. Photograph of an object seen near Mossgiel, WesternSheryl NSW, Gottschall in 2006 Chairperson, UFORQ

ApRIL - may 2011 Bray Park, April 1 2011 My nine-year old son took this pictures [below] from our home in Bray Park, during a storm on April 1st 2011. I was reluctant to send itin, as I had already reported a strange "Vanishing Star" to UFORQ on 20th February. Anyway, at the risk of being a frequent flyer, I hope you find these interesting. When I downloaded these images to my PC, I noticed two strange objects in the first photo: a white speck near the green street lamp and a dark shadow between the telephone poles. They are gone in the second photo. I wasn't there then my son took them, but from the jpeg data the images seem to be ten seconds apart. We get a lot of commercial aircraft approaching from the that part of the sky, however, when they appear as small as this, they are still very far away, and seem to hang there motionless for a few minutes at least. They certainly wouldn't
seem to move much in 17 seconds. I tried using free image enhancement software to de-blur the pictures myself, but I got nowhere.

Minyama, Sunshine Coast, April 23 2011, 7.30pm
I thought I saw a planet to the west of us. It was very bright and then started moving up and down and side to side before it moved very quickly away and disappeared. I am in the aircraft industry and this is the second object I've seen this year. There have been more over the years (day & night) but I think now I should be telling someone.
Just below the big dipper (Orion), at 19:30 hours a red bright light came up between the lower two stars, went above the dipper, came back down on the left/ southern side, seemed to get further away and then faded out of regular sight. It lasted about four to five minutes maximum, and was very strange.
Glen Aplin (Stanthorpe), April 10 2011, 10.20pm An oval brilliant white slightly shimmery light with a smaller blue/white light on the top, about a quarter the size of a full moon, was observed at Glen Aplin. It was a cloudy night and the object appeared in front of the clouds for about 30 seconds before it travelled behind the

Hawthorne, May 7 2011, 4.30pm I want to report an odd sighting this afternoon at around 4.30pm over the sky at Hawthorne. I was in the yard with my children when my son and I noticed two white lights in a southwest direction. We watched the lights for a minute or so trying to figure out what they were until it was apparent that I couldn't identify them as anything familiar to me. One was a smaller circle and the second was larger and appeared to be pulsing or perhaps reflecting light. It looked as if it changed shape from circular to oval and back again at a constant rate. The objects made no noise and their movement was very smooth and steady, and much too slow for an aircraft. The two lights stayed at a constant distance apart and moved as if the smaller was towing the larger one in a direct line from a southwest to northwest direction. I watched for about five minutes before I decided to get the camera, and when I went upstairs it wasn't until I looked in the direction they seemed to be travelling that I noticed a cluster of three more much smaller lights. They all resembled very bright stars but it was still perfect daylight outside. Eventually the lights seem to fade with distance but not toward the horizon, and were gone completely after about ten
5
minutes. I tried to take a photo but the lights didn't seem to focus in my camera at all.
Peak Crossing, Ipswich, May 8 2011, 3.00pm I was sitting at my computer and looked out the window (as if something told me to look out) and I saw this round/oval shaped object in the sky. It was fairly high up but underneath the clouds it didn't look too big in size. It was really fast, and as it turned to its side the sun shone onto it and it was silver metal and it literally disappeared in front of my eyes. All of a sudden it reappeared a little higher in the sky. I saw underneath the object and it was a reddish-orange colour with what looked to me like weird patterns as well. It then flew across the sky. I ran outside but could not see where it went. I was very disappointed because I was inside and only saw a few seconds of it. It definitely did not have wings!!
Cooplacurripa, NSW, May 11 2011, midnight We are at present observing a UFO of some sort as it is hovering over the mountains southwest of us. It has lots of coloured lights -- red orange green blue -- and a bright light. It is making a slow humming noise like wind. We have been watching it for one hour and in this time we have seen at least four of these objects landing in the mountains. We are two adults and one child and we are very unsettled at this point.
years and have spent many nights in the bush on training and operations. I have seen hundreds of shooting stars (many are picked up with night vision goggles that would not normally be seen by the naked eye) and I have never seen so bright a light. I was also excited as I had never seen a shooting star explode like a firework. Approximately two minutes after witnessing the "shooting star" I saw a hazy light in my peripheral vision. At first I thought it was an after-effect of looking at a streetlight. I turned my head to the left and could still see the hazy light in the same position. I turned to ask my wife if she could see the same object, but before I could speak she told me that she could see something in the sky. My wife was standing about twenty meters to the west of me. She also initially thought that it was an after-effect of looking at a streetlight, but later described the object as the "skeleton of a cloud". I estimated the object to be about 200-300 meters in the air and about 250 meters to the south of our position. My wife had a different impression and estimated the object to be slightly above rooftop level and about 30 meters to the south. I moved about 30 meters to the south (my wife remained in her original position) to try and get a better view of the hazy light ,at which time I saw an unnatural symmetrical cylindrical shape with curved ends (please see diagram
below). It was matt black in colour and contrasted against the dark blue of the night sky. If I held my right fist at arm's length it would have taken three fists to cover the complete cylindrical object. It was silently moving in an easterly direction and appeared to be travelling in a straight line. I watched it for approximately 10-15 seconds, during which my wife moved to me and asked if I could still see the object as she had lost sight of it. I pointed it out to her and she could also see it for about three more seconds until we lost sight of it due to street lighting around the barracks. My wife could only make out something moving in the sky for these final three seconds, and neither of us could make out the shape at this range. If I had to make a very rough stab in the dark I think at this time it was about 800m to the east of us and appeared to be continuing on the same line of flight. I believe my estimation of height and distance away from us is more accurate. If the object had been at above rooftop level we would have lost sight of it earlier as there were buildings between us and the object when we finally lost sight.
Parrearra (Sunshine Coast), May 12 2011, 10.30pm On returning home I headed upstairs to my bedroom without turning any lights on in the house. As I entered the room I could see what appeared to be a low flying craft, travelling south along the coastline.
Townsville, April 30 2011, 9.00pm I would like to report a sighting that occurred on 30 April 2011 at approximately 2100hrs in Townsville, Queensland. The object was witnessed by my wife and myself. I am a soldier in the Australian Army. In the evening I regularly go to the barracks and my wife often joins me. The night of 30 April 2011 was quite cool and there were no discernable clouds in the sky. Visibility was great and the stars were easy to make out. At approximately 2100hrs (estimated as I was not wearing a watch) I saw what I first believed to be a shooting star. I initially noticed it nearly directly above my head and watched it travel in a Westerly direction away from me. I watched it move down towards the horizon for about half a second, at which point it seemed to explode like fireworks. It was very bright (maybe 510 times brighter than the brightest star in the sky). I asked my wife if she had seen the shooting star and I was disappointed that she had not as it was very spectacular. I commented that it was very unusual as I have never seen a shooting star so bright. I am an infantryman who has served about nine

The thing that piqued my attention was that the craft was not lit at all and didn't appear smooth or recognisable as any other aircraft I have seen. The closest description I could give is that it appeared like a low flying cloud. I would estimate the size to have been that of three or four Chinook helicopters, which periodically fly through, typically during the day. I opened the balcony door and went out for a better look. The object couldn't have been flying more than a few hundred metres above the ocean and was no more than two kilometres away. The only reason it could be seen at all was the orange street lights reflecting off the underside and side. The first thing I noticed when I opened the door is that there was absolutely no aircraft noise. The air was cold and dead calm. I could hear a road crew spraying white lines on the Nicklin Way, about 600 metres away and the small waves at Kawana Beach. It was about 30 seconds before the object had disappeared from view, over Caloundra somewhere. From this, I would conservatively estimate its speed to be around 500km/h.
Toombul/Nundah, May 12 2011, 10.30pm A UFO appeared as a large grey triangular shape passing silently (with no sound) through the sky in an easterly direction and heading south over Toombul/Nundah area. The night was cloudless with most, if not all, air traffic having landed for the night. It was difficult to make out the exact shape, however it appeared as matt grey against the dimly lit black sky and appeared to be shaped like a thick triangle. It was moving consistently with no sound towards the Gateway (motorway) and then moved south
towards Clayfield. As it flew over Toombul it was lost from sight. There were no lights on the object at all, which was strange, and that with the lack of sound meant that it could not be a conventional aircraft. The sighting lasted about 10 seconds.
Point Vernon, Qld, May 13 2011, 5.33pm Just thought I`d send this photo [image right]. It was taken on 13/05/2011 at 5.33pm after we arrived back home from the shops. I noticed large amounts of grey/black smoke and saw these two objects streaking across the sky and a further darker object a bit on the right angle.
Location unknown, May 14 2011, dawn On the morning of 14th May 2011, I saw a black streak on the horizon in the northeast just above the horizon. The streak was shooting upwards. At the top was a rocket-shaped object which was much thicker than the streak. The rocket did not seem to move even though I stood watching for it about five minutes. I had been looking at the planet alignment, which showed three of the four planets. The sky was very clear with only the planets showing.
Regents Park, May 14 2011, 6.00pm I was leaving a party at 6.00pm in Regents Park Qld when I saw two bright red lights to the southeast. They were stationary for few minutes. I ran back inside to tell the others and we all watched these two lights blink and go out, then appear again and move position for several minutes. Then a plane came over and both lights flickered and were gone. We left the party and headed down the Mt Lindsey highway and to my surprise

the lights were back. I watched them move north, then south, then one seemed to head right towards us. I would estimate they were only about 1000ft up. I lost track of the one following our direction (towards Jimboomba), but the other just sat there. Even my daughter said 'Mum that isn't a plane.' We kept watching through the car window but both objects disappeared from sight. I looked through my binoculars when I got home but they were nowhere to be seen.
Gladstone, May 18 2011, 6.15pm I would like to lodge a sighting of a possible UFO dated 18/5/2011. I live in Wivenhoe Close, Gladstone Qld, facing

southeast, and have never seen a confirmed UFO, although when I was 16 I did see, along with three of my mates, a very bright orange light while we were standing on top of a hill overlooking an expansive valley in the Blue Mountains, Sydney. I still remember it to this day, but have always passed it off as the reflection of the sun on an aeroplane. I did some following up many years later to learn that where this bright orange light was approximately located over the valley, there are no commercial airline routes. At approximately 18:15 in the evening (May 18 2011), I went to put the rubbish out, stopped for a cigarette, and looked up at the sky as I usually do, hoping to see a UFO or at the least a shooting star and the Milky Way. As I was about to head back inside I noticed two lights that I thought were the lights of an aircraft. There was one bright light at the stern and one smaller light at the bow, both perfectly parallel and as bright as aircraft lights. They were separated from each other and moving in a south-easterly direction. However, whilst intensely waiting for the flashing beacon, there was none, and there was also no noise of an aircraft passing as there usually is from a jet, commercial dual engine prop or light single prop, or helicopter aircraft that we have at our airport. There is always a sound. I have never witnessed an aircraft in the sky whether landing, taking off or cruising not to have beacon lights or the noise of an engine in this area directly above me. I looked closely for the beacon lights and waited for the noise but there was none. The lights then moved directly in front of a star, and the star passed directly between the two lights (there was a gap where I could see the star). There seemed to be no fuselage. I kept watching for the beacon lights and aircraft engines for approximately another minute until the lights just faded and disappeared. I couldn't believe it when they just disappeared. From the time the lights were directly above me I followed the lights with my eyes until they vanished. They were not descending or rising, just cruising at what appeared to be a noticeable stable altitude, with no flashing beacon and no noise until they just faded and vanished.
half of the object -- they were not very bright, quite dim actually. It was very exciting as I have always believed in UFOs or aliens etc. This is the first time I have experienced something like this and I definitely believe what I saw. My husband was sitting next to me, and obviously I tried to show him, but it was too late before he turned around to look.
Location unknown, 2010, reported May 2011 I took this picture [image below] last year, and when I took a closer look on the computer I saw a couple of things that I didn't see when I took the shot. You can see one object in the centre of the frame towards the top, the other is on the right half way up the frame. I was snapping off frames fairly quickly and they are not in the shots I took either side of this image. [Editor’s note: from close inspection these objects are likely to be insects caught mid-flight.]
Damascus, Qld, 2000, reported May 2011 It was early September 2000 at about 9.00am. The weather was fine and clear and I was driving south on the Bruce Highway, Damascus (north of Gin Gin Qld) with my wife in our Camry Sedan. We had been on the road for nearly two hours during an otherwise uneventful trip and we were 2.5km north of the Damascus Road turnoff. I know the exact spot on the road as I've driven through there numerous times and it appears on Google Maps around 34936 Bruce Highway. The road verge falls away to a gully on the eastern side, and the western side of the road has a twometre high cutting. Both sides of the road are flanked by open bush.
My wife had earlier reclined her seat to nod off for awhile so she was half asleep listening to music. I remember there were two cars ahead of me equally spaced about 50m each as we all travelled at 100km/h. Suddenly, what I can only describe as a spinning chrome metal sphere, about the size of netball, leapt from the gulley to my left then across the road just in front of me. It bounded three times on the road from left to right, hit the top of the western side cutting wall and flew into gum trees disappearing from view. Each bound on the road was about three metres long, but the last bound into the gum trees was the largest, being a leap of about 15 metres. Its trajectory was close to an '8am -2pm' straight line from my left to right. We were travelling at 100km/h but this orb was travelling faster than us by the time it flew into the bush. In my shock and disbelief at what I saw and was trying to comprehend, I half braked to stop (even though there was no danger of collision) and yelled 'did you see that!' to my wife, who rose quickly to see nothing. My immediate instinct and training was to pull over and pursue this object on foot, but fought this urge off as my reality was we were miles from anywhere and I could not pigeonhole what the object was or what it was potentially capable of doing to me, given what I had just seen. It was basically an 'unknown threat'. All this flew through my head in microseconds, even a vision of my wife waiting by our car for hours with no idea why I had stopped the car and sprinted into the bush without explanation, never to return. So we did not stop and drove on. As I did I desperately tried to compare
Mount Isa, May 22 2011, 7.30pm Just a quick letter letting you know of an experience I had last night whilst sitting on the verandah. It was about 7.00pm and something caught my eye. There was a huge object (much bigger than a plane or anything of the sort). It was almost camouflaged with the night sky. It was moving quite slowly. There were heaps of lights surrounding about

it to anything on this earth it could realistically have been, but failed. At our destination a few hours later I described it to my father-in law. It was about six metres from the front of our car when closest and was in sight for a few seconds, but I got a pretty clear view. I could tell the sphere was spinning in the same direction it was travelling as there was a break somewhere on the shiny metallic surface. As soon as I saw the sphere it looked perfectly chromed, but as it left my sight to the right and sped up over the cutting, it had a more ribbed look about its surface. Possibly this was caused by reflections from the gum trees it was approaching. There was nothing animate about it -- no legs, no eyes, no projections, and no living thing could move in the manner this orb did. It did not make a sound but moved gracefully and appeared to move with effortless acceleration. It did not baulk at the approach of our vehicle, but moved in a perfectly straight line as if it knew where it was going with purpose. It could not have been fired as a projectile as it would have slowed when colliding with the cutting wall and deflected from its course. Neither happened, and it in fact accelerated from the cutting wall which led me to conclude it was travelling under its own power source. I've been working as a police officer for years and the subject of UFOs is not a subject easily broached with workmates for obvious reasons, nor something I'd treat flippantly if taken into someone's confidence on a similar matter, whether professionally or not. I've spoken about this incident with only some family members and close friends, not freely discussing it to avoid a reputation for 'looing it', full of s**t, or just plain attention seeking. There was a more recent event gaining wide media exposure on 19 June 2009 north of Gin Gin in the Monduran area concerning an explosion on the mountain and ensuing bushfire. This caught my interest at the time and reminded me of my personal incident and its possible relevance, however I had no idea where this event occurred. Just tonight I was looking at the Phantoms & Monsters website which lists the 2009 event and
shows a map circling the area where the explosion is alleged to have occurred. To my surprise the trajectory of the sphere object crossing my path originates directly from the area of Monduran State Forest 2 where this explosion occurred, and is only about 5km away. (A hop, skip and a jump away for a spinning metallic sphere at over 100km/h!) If my experience is a coincidence in relation to the proximity to the 2009 event so be it, but I thought if there is a chance my story is another piece in a puzzle of whatever larger picture is coming together then I wanted to share this info with your organisation in case it is of some relevance and benefit.
Canadian wilderness, 1978‌ You may not believe this, but I have sent emails and fax's to UFO research people almost everywhere including our Canadian Space Agency and nobody responds. I just don't understand it. I know where there was and possibly still could be a UFO ORB in the Canadian wilderness... and nobody cares. Are those UFO researchers for real? Thirty-three years ago I went on an offroad hike in the Canadian wilderness and came across a metallic object on the ground. I picked the object up and held
it in my hands for about a minute or so. It was a cylinder-shaped object about 12-14 inches long (sorry I don't know metric) and about 10-12 inches around with rounded (half ball) ends. The object weighed about 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 lbs. Other than some dust on it, it looked like a very clear, curved mirror. The thing was 100% perfect. No scratches or manufacturing lines or marks anywhere. To be honest, my first impression was that the thing was a giant cylinder ballbearing. But, ballbearings are round aren't they? I quickly put the object back on the ground when I realized that it could be alien and have radiation. I walked away and got on with my life... never giving it any more thought. Than, I saw two photos of UFO orbs on the Internet, just like the one I had found. I began to think about the whole ordeal all over again. What if the object had crashed where I found it? What if the object is still where I had left it 33 years ago? Anyway, the object would be buried under grass and brush by now. A person would need special equipment to locate it again. That's something I don't have. But, what I do have is the location where had left it within an area of 150 ft x 300 feet. That's the best I can do in my old age.
Could an alien artifact be hidden somewhere in the Candian wilderness?

microterrestrials VS
MALAYSIA! Rob Morphy
Reprinted with permission from Mysterious Universe http://mysteriousuniverse.org In what must be ranked as one of the weirdest UFO flaps in modern history, citizens of the Southeast Asian nation of Malaysia were besieged by a plethora of miniature flying saucers occupied by even more diminutive, tunic-clad, antenna bearing occupants who were armed with searing rayguns! Covering an area of over 127,300 miles, Malaysia is a country that occupies two regions. The first borders Thailand on the Peninsular Malaysia and is separated from its sister country -- Malaysian Borneo -- by the South China Sea. The country has a rich tradition of legends and folklore, but few are as intriguing as the bizarre ufological phenomenon, which plagued this nation during the 1970s and into the 1980s. In one of my previous articles for Mysterious Universe: "Close Encounters of the Weird Kind," I reported on all sorts of strange run-ins that people have claimed to have had with some of the wackiest aliens ever chronicled. These odd visitors ranged from elephant-skinned robots to steel-toothed assailants to giant space brains, but between 1969 and 1985, Malaysia played host to an utterly unique breed of alien invader, which I've hastily dubbed: "microterrestrials." These micro-terrestrials were said to be clad in one-piece suits or gaudily decorated tunics and purportedly

stood between 3 and 6-inches in height (though there have been encounters with beings that measured a mere 1inch high.) Some reportedly had bigger heads and larger, more rounded eyes than average human beings, and most were said to be armed with what the witnesses described as "ray-guns." Intriguingly, the 3-inch humanoids were specifically said to have two antennalike structures protruding from the heads and in almost every case they were accompanied by -- what, at least
to human eyes, must have seemed to have been -- miniature flying saucers, measuring no more than 3-feet in diameter. Even more disturbing was the fact that the nexus of their presumably nefarious activities tended to be schoolyards! The first reported case of a microterrestrial encounter in Malaysia
occurred in Johor Bahru, the densely populated capital city of Johor, on July 2nd, 1969. In a scene which must have been evocative of the 1994 Ariel School Aliens encounter in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, four schoolboys ran into their headmaster's office and excitedly informed him that they had just seen a tiny silver UFO (reportedly no larger than a dinner plate) on school property. Even more astoundingly they claimed to have seen five, 6-inch tall humanoid figures in red uniforms emerge from the craft. According to the boys, the moment these creatures noticed the growing audience they scuttled out of sight down a nearby hole as their flying saucer seemed to vanish into thin air. Of course, it wasn't long before word of these dollsized, crimson clad creatures spread throughout the school. In no time both students and teachers were scouring the vicinity in search of the enigmatic entities and their miniscule vehicle. Sadly, the search turned up nothing more than a small patch of burnt grass where, presumably, the UFO landed. The second significant encounter with these lil' folk -- and the first known report of these creatures being armed -- occurred on August 19th, 1970, near the playground of the Stowell Primary School in Bukit Mertajam. Eyewitnesses claimed that they saw five, 3-inch tall humanoids march in a military fashion down the gangplank of a miniature flying saucer into the schoolyard.

Four of the beings wore identical blue uniforms while the fifth, who carried himself with the aura of one who seemed to be in charge, wore a bright yellow tunic decorated with stars and had a pair of "horns" or antennas on his head. A first the unusual entities seemed to ignore the onlookers and proceeded to climb a nearby tree where they erected an "aerial-like device" in its branches. The purpose of this device, or if it was recovered, were facts that remain frustratingly unrecorded. In no time a cluster of six boys advanced on the unexpected guests. The bravest of the bunch, one K.Wigneswaran, made a grab for the garishly clothed leader, but the alien astronauts were quick to defend themselves and wasted no time in drawing their "tiny laser pistols" and opening fire on the inquisitive children. The kids scattered in a panic and once the hubbub died down Wigneswaran would discover a scar on his thigh where he had been hit by the laser pistol. This case would come to be indicative of a wave of encounters -- wherein a curious kid would try and capture one of the "spacemen" resulting in said spaceman defending itself vigorously -which would quickly spread throughout Malaysia in the coming years. It's worth noting that in most of these cases there is a disturbing lack of specific names, dates and places on which to base further research. This is
ufO encounter
likely due to the fact that the primary source of these sightings is one Ahmad Jamaludin, who published his report on these strange occurrences in the November 1979 edition of the MUFON UFO Journal, No. 141. Jamaludin claimed that the facts in these cases are so scarce due to his inability to contact the primarily youthful witnesses: "The following alleged encounters, the full stories of which are incomplete since the principle witnesses cannot be located, are listed below." One must presume that Jamaludin has access to at least some additional information, but for reasons of brevity chose not to include them in his overview. Be that as it may, assuming these cases are true, they represent one of the most fascinating ufological flaps in history and one that, according to Jamaludin, was distinctly Malaysian: "While other countries have been experiencing close encounters with humanoids of diversified forms, I would like to draw attention to the reports in Malaysia where humanoid encounters have been confined to only one type -tiny entities measuring from 3 inches to 6 inches in height. Though reports of the other UFO categories bear similarity to the global sightings, encounters with humanoids in Malaysia on the record so far are in a class of their own. There has not been a single reported incident of encounters with UFO occupants measuring taller than 6 inches in height.
It is also to be noted that there has not been a single case of a UFO measuring greater than 3 feet in diameter landing on Malaysian soil. These observations constitute a puzzle, and if any explanations can be given it is hoped that some relationship with the global UFO landings may give a clue to the UFO phenomena." Things appeared to calm down after the initial Johor encounter, but in 1973 it must have seemed as if the entire country were about to be invaded by a mini-intergalactic armada. The first big encounter of 1973 occurred in transit town in Pahang, which is located near the state capital of Kuantan. The alleged aliens continued their alarming trend of landing on school grounds, and this time would be seen not only by two students, but also a teacher! Two young men would later insist that they had come into contact with a pair of 3-inch tall, humanoid creatures, one of which they managed to capture. The commotion these lads made over their quarry was so profound that a teacher walked over to see what all the fuss was about. According to the official report, said teacher saw this odd entity immediately before it made its escape. That same year, a bunch of school children claimed that a puny UFO carrying undersized humanoids landed in a nearby field. Several kids hysterically called for their teachers, but the adults missed the craft's swift ascension by mere seconds. The second report of one of these creatures being armed also came in 1973. The event began innocently enough with a group of boys playing soccer in a school field in Bukit Mertajam, the capital of Central Seberang Perai. They young men testified that they watched in astonishment as a small UFO landed adjacent to the field in which they were playing. The boys quickly abandoned their game and ran over to inspect this curious interloper. The youngsters claimed that a group of "tiny creatures" emerged from the object and -- as in the Pahang case -- an effort was made to capture the miniscule men. But, unlike the briefly incarcerated creature of Pahang, these small beings were apparently in no mood to be manhandled. According to the kids' tale, a "beam of light" was fired at the hand of the boy who lunged for the aliens. Information
11
regarding what sort of mysterious device fired the "beam" and what (if any) damage was done has, unfortunately, been lost to time. Understandably, the UFO and it occupants took off within seconds of the alleged attack. The next 1973 event happened in the city Miri, which is located in northern Sarawak, on the Malaysian portion of the island of Borneo. Intriguingly this is the first case that did not hail from the Peninsular Malaysia. Again a group of boys claimed to have spied a humanoid, approximately 6-inches in height and clad in a "white suit." Intriguingly, they further claimed that the creature was cutting through a "wire fence" using an apparatus that emitted an "intense beam of light." Perhaps this was the same device that the previous aliens used to defend themselves against their gargantuan human assailants, but there is no information as to what transpired next. It should also be noted that no UFO was spotted at the scene. The next encounter of that auspicious year also took place in Miri, Sarawak, but this account diverges from the rest in that it did not take place at a school and it involved more creatures and eyewitnesses than the usual encounter. The event began as several people -- presumably children and adults -- were frolicking on the sun drenched tropical shoreline. It was then that they stumbled across "a group of tiny beings wearing white suits." The eyewitnesses claimed that there were at least six or seven humanoids. They further stated that the entities wore no masks and resembled humans in every way except for their tiny size, although they did not specify any ethnic affiliation. As if these additional details weren't tantalizing enough, this report is the first to state that the group of micro-terrestrials included both male and female members. The females were notable for their longer hair and (presumably) other gender specific attributes. This encounter, much like the previous one, did not include a UFO sighting, but it is difficult not to assume that there is at least some tenuous connection between the tiny beings seen on the island of Borneo and those on the Peninsular Malaysia. Sometime in 1975 or 1976, the New Straits Times of Kuala Lumpur published a report entitled: "Believe it
12
or Not." This account detailed a bizarre of a tiny UFO -- and its even tinier 3-inch occupant -- which allegedly touched ground at a Royal Malaysian Air Force Base located approximately nine miles outside of the town of Kuantan. A translated excerpt from the article follows: "Kuantan, Thursday -- A 3-inch-tall creature said to resemble a human being, has become the talk of the RMAF base here since its reported sighting, by a schoolboy two days ago. The story has also spread to the town. “Paul Lazario, 9, a pupil of the RMAF Primary School said he saw the creature two days ago near a drain at the RMAF field. It was stopping to drink water, he added. 'I caught it but it escaped from my grip and ran into some undergrowth near the drain,' he said. “’It had two feelers on the head and held a steel-like rod in its hand. A pistol was hanging from its waist. It was brown in colour and looked like a man,' he added. “Paul said he related the incident to his friends and in the evening three of them went to the spot near the field. And according to schoolboy, Neo Lee Ann, 12, all three saw the creature moving about on the area. 'When it saw us, it ran into the undergrowth and disappeared,' he said. “A teacher of the school, Mr. Yew Kim Guan, said when he heard the story he went to investigate. 'There was no sign of the creature in the area, but I saw a Red Indian-like wigwam beautifully weaved out of grass. It was partly crushed." The final major case in this first decadelong flap occurred six years later in 1979, in same locale that the 1973 wave started, Bukit Mertajam. Apparently a small flying saucer landed in a field and when a group of youngsters approached they were flabbergasted to see a 3-inch tall creature emerge from the UFO. As is evidently the trend with the fearless (or foolhardy) young men of Malaysia, an attempt was made by one of the boys on hand to capture the creature from outer space, but -- much like in the first Bukit Mertajam case -- the armed alien fired a "beam that temporarily paralyzed his right arm." The reports conclude with the unexplained visitor from out of this world making its escape. According to Jamaludin, there were seven reported landings in Malaysia between 1969 and 1979. He mentioned that all but two of the encounters took
place during the day and described the similarities between the encounters in his official report: “The creatures measured, in all cases, either 3 inches or 6 inches tall. All were equipped with a type of ray gun. They were described as well dressed in onepiece suits. Some had a slightly larger head and round eyes. The 3-inch humanoids sometimes had two antenna-like structures protruding from the head. Case 1,2,3,4 and 7 occurred in West Malaysia, all reported by schoolchildren and all landings took place in school premises." Jamaludin even chronicled a 2-foot wide UFO encounter that happened near Kulim that resulted in yet another "attack" by these little extraterrestrials, but not a "humanoid" sighting: "There were three more probable encounters with tiny humanoids in Malaysia, but unfortunately the origin of the incidents cannot be traced. One recent case, a probable landing, occurred on May 26 1979, near Kulim where the witnesses, three boys and two adults, claimed to have sighted a small UFO hovering a few feet above the ground, perhaps in an attempt to land since its three landing gears were already down. As the witnesses tried to touch the object an intense light ray shone into their eyes which temporarily blinded them. This shows that the small UFO was intelligently controlled from inside. Considering its small size, estimated at abouttwo feet in diameter, the UFO occupants if any inside would have to measure about three inches tall to fit comfortably in the object." Jamaludin would also go on to suggest the reason that he believes these creatures tend to focus on schoolyards has less to do with children and more with the open fields near the school's themselves: "From the air, Malaysia offers half a dozen types of landing grounds, namely jungles, rubber and oil palm plantations, rice fields, tin mining areas, and football fields. For a landing the thick jungles and rubber plantations do not offer enough clearance. Rice fields and tin-mining areas are almost isolated, and if there were any landings, most would go unnoticed (considering also the small size of the UFO). The only landing spot that would attract attention in the event of a landing would be a field." While the "official" flap ended in 1979, 1985 would prove to be a renaissance of sorts for the Malaysian micro-terrestrial.
ufO encounter
The first event occurred in Paka, Terengganu, in October of 1985. Much like the previous cases, a group of school kids claimed to have encountered no less than seven "human-like entities" hiding beneath a stack of wood near their school. The youthful witnesses described the beings as about 4-inches in height and further speculated that the party consisted of six men and one woman. It goes without saying that one of the children lunged out and managed to touch one the beings, but unlike those who were struck by some sort of beamlike weapon, this youngster claimed that his hand suddenly became "itchy." The "aliens" then disappeared into their lumber covered hiding spot. According to the reports, numerous folks dedicated hours to removing the wood piece by piece in the hopes of reacquiring these stealthy visitors, but there efforts were for naught. The next event occurred at about 8.30am in December of that same year. Khairuddin Eidin -- a 26 year-old bicyclist from Karak, Pahang -- claimed that he spied an "umbrella" shaped UFO flying approximately 30-feet away from him. He described the object as "metallic" and "shiny." Several other eyewitnesses also claimed to see the object rotate and ascend out of sight. As prolific as the Malaysian reports would be, they weren't the only people claiming to encounter flight capable "wee folk." In his book "UFOs Over California," Preston Dennett claimed that there were two encounters in California with UFOs that were described as being the size of a "baseball." These run-ins occurred in 1958 and 1976 respectively, and in the latter case eyewitnesses claimed to have seen three "things" inside the ball-like craft. It has to be assumed that these beings were even smaller than 3-inches, if they were able to comfortably traverse the universe -or even inter-dimensionally -- in such a minute vehicle. Chile Humanoid Speaking of minute mysteries, one would be remiss not to include the incredible case of the tiny humanoid that was allegedly discovered alive in Chile. According to this fascinating report, on October 1st 2002, while vacationing in the Southern Chilean city of ConcepciĂłn, young Julio CarreĂąo and his family discovered a strange-looking
ufO encounter

creature lurking around in some dense foliage. The humanoid being measured out to be 7.2 centimeters long (approximately 3-inches) and bore a relatively large head, two arms with unnaturally long fingers and two, apparently bipedal, legs [image page 13]. Julio managed to capture the creature and wrapped it in a piece of paper. The family claimed that this aberration of nature survived for over a week and even managed to open its eyes before succumbing. It wasn't long before this curious carcass became a media sensation and scientists from across the globe have debated the origins of this little guy, with some speculating that it might be a fetus from a known animal such as a mouse, possum or wild cat. Others, however, are not so sure. There are some who believe that the Chile humanoid may represent an unknown species of primate, while others of a more eccentric bent presume the remains to be those of an alien that did not manage to survive the ordeals of the Chilean jungle. While Asians and North and South Americans have all claimed to have had encounters with various breeds of teensy space invaders, it should be noted that there have been a handful of unusual mini-humanoid sightings, one in particular, which seemed to end on a particularly sour note for the ostensibly alien visitor.
14
Pakistan Humanoid In 2009, in Lahore, Pakistan, a 4-inch human-like alien was allegedly found alive in the debris of an old store that was being rebuilt. The creature flopped around in a fish-like manner and local children threw stones at it, assuming that it was a dangerous animal. Eventually the creature was captured by locals who -- one can only hope -accidentally killed it when trying to secure it inside a bottle. News of the strange cadaver swiftly spread through the town and witnesses gathered to see the little body, which, according to the report, shriveled and burned in the searing Lahore sun (or by placing it on hot rocks, depending on which report you read). Clips of the odd body and the Pakistani news report are on YouTube. The locals claimed that they wanted the corpse to be examined by "medical" officials. Whether or not that has transpired is unknown, but I've got to admit that it looks like a bit of a cob job on a plastic toy to me, but, then again, you never know. So what should one make of this strange phenomenon? Does it prove that aliens really do come in all shapes and sizes, or are we dealing with hyperfuturistic time travelers who, for reasons incomprehensible to us, must shrink themselves in order to make the arduous journey? Are these just the small scout ships for a grand -- albeit relatively tiny -- alien armada, hellbent on the enslavement of humanity, or are they merely mild-
mannered explorers who can't understand why these strange giants are constantly attacking them? Or, when all is said and done, is all of this merely a schoolboy prank that spread like out an of control wildfire with copycat reports popping up all across Malaysia? According to Jamaludin, the primary investigator of this phenomenon, skeptics should give these young witnesses the benefit of the doubt. He also indicated that if these encounters are genuine, they represent just the tip of a colossal, mysterious, iceberg: "At the time of writing I have documented 24 cases: about 50 percent of the tiny entities were sighted with their little UFOs, and the remainder without the UFOs. If we reject these claims as hallucination or hoaxes, then I can close shop with this UFO business since there is nothing to report of significance. If we were to accept that the young witnesses were reporting what they actually saw, then we have a very important clue to work with." Either way it's hard not to speculate that a great number of UFO sightings may well go unreported due to the fact that sky watchers are generally on the lookout for colossal mother ships rather than model-sized vehicles.Whatever the answer to this fascinating enigma may be, there are few who would argue that micro-terrestrial reports -- be they cosmic or Earthbound -- represent a fascinating and perplexing puzzle for ufologists and fortean investigators worldwide.

UFO MOTHERSHIP VISITS LONDON? June 27 2011, http://au.news.yahoo.com/ thewest/a/-/offbeat/9712735/ufomothership-visits-london/
Believe it, or not. Unidentified flying objects have appeared among the clouds over a BBC building in West London, a video has shown. That's right, UFOs in London. But not just any UFOs - the video shows the "mothership" and its fleet flying up in the sky in broad daylight. "They were caught on camera by a passerby and at least one other person who can be seen filming or taking pictures on his camera phone while the video is filmed," Britain's Daily Mail has reported. "In the video, the cameraman runs towards the corner of Bolsover Street and Clipstone Street where two other men are already standing, gazing skywards, one of whom is using a mobile phone camera."
The footage shows white dots zipping across the sky before being joined by a bigger and brighter disc-shaped object. "Far be it from us to suggest that the video is a hoax, but were people so minded then that part of London is home to a great many production houses offering both the expertise and facilities to mock up a convincing video," The Mail said. The video is believed to have been filmed this month FARMER HOSPIT ALIZED HOSPITALIZED FOLL OWING UFO FOLLOWING ENCOUNTER June 20 2011, http://www.openminds.tv/ farmer-hospitalized-following-ufoencounter-716/

incident took place on the afternoon of June 15th. According to the witness, he was shooting video of a fish farm with his cell phone when he suddenly saw the UFO in the sky.He claims that the UFO sped towards him, resulting in an electric shock that rendered him unconscious. After regaining consciousness, he returned home. His family took him to the hospital where he was treated and released the same day. But in the article published by the Assam Tribune yesterday, Kumam said he had not yet fully recovered from his UFO encounter. BLACK HOLE HAS BREACHED EARTH'S CORE 7 June 2011, http://beforeitsnews.com/ story/693/052/ Scientist:_Black_hole_has_breached_Earths_core.html
A brilliant scientist suggests a black hole may be responsible for recent Earth changes. L. Riofrio, who has worked with NASA, believes a black hole has breached our planet's core and may be about to release literal hell on Earth. Riofrio describes the field as a plume of magnetism emanating from Earth's superhot core. She says it wraps itself around the Earth in a complicated matrix of shimmering energy. The field also interacts with the sun and may even be influenced to a degree by shifting ocean currents. But the core contains a secret terror-a physical force that simultaneously grants the planet life and yet, ironically, dooms it in the end. Some poets call this massive graviticmagnetic generating force a dark heart. According to the evidence, Riofrio says, the inner heart of Earth--its spinning core--is probably surrounded by a hurricane of charged atomic particles whipped in a whirlwind around a black hole singularity. Because the black hole is rotating within the center of the core, the particles create a massive electrical field.
According to this scenario, the geomagnetic field would have its dipolar positive charge located at the Antarctic, which it does. From time to time the polarity would flip: north would become south and positive negative as the black hole changed speed and direction and the magnetic field followed suit. As the geomagnetic field changes, disturbing changes occurring in the Earth's core have been observed. The emerging data may tend to support the black hole argument. A more frightening scenario is the black hole may not be stationary. Although a singularity could sit dead center inside the Earth's spinning, molten core, others have suggested that a small black hole might bounce back and forth beneath the mantle like the clapper of a bell. As the hole approached the surface it would be attracted back to the center of the planet, fall inward, build up speed, and slip right through the core to the other side of the Earth. The "ringing" process could be repeated for thousands, even millions, of years until enough matter had been swallowed by the hole to destroy the Earth. When the hole began the process of swallowing the Earth most of the planet would be gone within a matter of hours. No one knows when that could happen. It may not be for another million years. Or it may, indeed, be the day after tomorrow... HUMANS WILL FIND ALIENS WITHIN 20 YEARS June 29 2011,The West Australian
A top Russian astronomer says humans will make contact with alien life in the next two decades - but "they may have different colour skin". "Life exists on other planets and we will find it within 20 years," Russian Academy Of Sciences Applied Astronomy Institute director Andrei Finkelstein said. "The genesis of life is as inevitable as the formation of atoms." At an international forum dedicated to the search for spacemen, he also said that aliens would most likely resemble humans, with two arms, two legs and a head. Finkelstein went on to say that he believes those looking for evidence of extraterrestrial life have been doing it the wrong way. Most scientists searching have been scouring the galaxy for radio signals sent out by alien civilisations. He insists it should be us who should be making the contact with them and not the other way round."

SCIENTISTS REVEAL ASTEROID HIT -LIST HIT-LIST June 30, 2011,http:// au.news.yahoo.com/ thewest/a/-/world/ 9758036/scientists-reveal-asteroid-hit-list
Scientists have released a list of countries they say would be worst affected by an asteroid strike as a piece of space rock about the size of a large garbage truck hurtled past Earth two days ago. China tops the list because of its sheer size and population, but others in the top ten include Indonesia, Japan, the US, the Philippines, Italy, Britain, Brazil and Nigeria. The list has been compiled by researchers from the Britain's University of Southampton. Countries which face devastation to infrastructure are Canada, the US, China, Japan and Sweden. "The threat of Earth being hit by an asteroid is increasingly being accepted as the single greatest natural disaster hazard faced by humanity," Nick Bailey, of the University of Southampton, told The Daily Mail Newspaper. "The consequences for human populations and infrastructure as a result of an impact are enormous. Nearly one hundred years ago a remote region near the Tunguska River witnessed the largest asteroid impact event in living memory when a relatively small object (approximately 50 meters in diameter) exploded in mid-air.While it only flattened unpopulated forest, had it exploded over London it could have devastated everything within the M25. Our results highlight those countries that face the greatest risk from this most global of natural hazards and thus indicate which nations need to be involved in mitigating the threat.' CEMETERY OF GIANT CREATURES FOUND IN CENTRAL AFRICA June 24 2011, Pravda
A team of anthropologists found a mysterious burial in the jungle near the city of Kigali Rwanda (Central Africa). The remains belong to gigantic creatures that bear little resemblance to humans. The head of the research group believes that they could be visitors from another planet who died as a result of a catastrophe. According to the scientists, they were buried at least 500 years ago. At first, researchers thought they had come across the remains of ancient settlements, but no signs of human life have been found nearby. The 40 communal graves had approximately 200 bodies in them, all perfectly preserved. The creatures were tall - approximately 7 feet. Their heads were disproportionately large and they had no mouth, nose or eyes. The anthropologists believe that the creatures were members of an alien landing, possibly destroyed by some terrestrial virus to which they had no immunity. However, no traces of the landing of the spacecraft or its fragments were discovered.
16
This is not the first such finding. In the summer of 1937 a group of Chinese scientists led by Professor Chi Putei surveyed the caves of Mount Bayan-Kara-Ula. Inside they found skeletons with excessively large heads and puny bodies. Nearby there were 176 stone plates. In the center of each plate there was a hole from which a spiral groove spread out to the perimeter with some characters on it. In addition, the cave walls were covered with pictures of the rising sun, moon and stars, with many painted dots or small items, slowly approaching the mountains and the earth's surface. Experts in deciphering ancient written characters have been puzzled over the disclosure of the secret spirals from the cave Bayan-Kara-Ula for two decades. Finally, the professor of Beijing University Zum Umniu deciphered several inscriptions. The grooved letters narrated that approximately 12 thousand years ago some flying objects crashed in these mountains. Chinese archaeologists found a mention of the peoples who lived in the mountainous caves of Bayan-Kara-Ula. A corpse of another "alien" was found by Turkish cavers. A mummy was resting in a sarcophagus made of crystalline material. The height of the humanoid male creature did not exceed 1 meter 20 centimeters, his skin was light green, and he had large transparent wings on his sides. According to the researchers, in spite of the unusual appearance the creature looked more like a person rather than an animal. His nose, lips, ears, hands, feet, nails, were very similar to humans. Only his eyes were very different, three times bigger than those of a human, and colourless, like reptile's eyes. Not that long ago in an ancient Egyptian tomb, a mummy of a man 2.5 meters tall was found. It had no nose or ears, and its mouth was very wide and had no tongue. According to archaeologist Gaston de Villars, the age of the Mummy is approximately four thousand years. It was buried as an Egyptian nobleman -- carefully mummified and surrounded by servants, food and art objects designed for the afterlife. However, as it was discovered, not all objects around the finding belong to the Egyptian or even Earth's culture. For example, among the finds was a round polished metal disk covered with strange characters, a costume made of metal with the remnants of something resembling plastic shoes, and many stone tablets filled with images of stars, planets and strange machines. The Shrine where the strange mummy was found also looks unusual. The burial was made of a material unknown in antiquity. The stone was literally carved from the rock so that the walls were smooth, like polished marble. It looked as if it was cut by a laser. Incidentally, the stone's surface was fused. The tomb was decorated with a substance resembling lead. However, the "alien" theory is not the only one. According to some researchers, "giants" and "dwarfs" could be a mere side branch of humanity that once lived on Earth, but for some reason became extinct.
THE ALIEN 'KILLED WITH A COAL SHOVEL' June 24 2011, http:// www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/features/ leader/9104870.The_alien____killed_ with_a_coal_shovel___/?ref=mmsp
It is a sunny spring day in 1940. Soldiers are marching south along Saltwell Road, in Gateshead, towards Low Fell. Nearby, fiveyear-old Robert Hall is playing with his friends in the maze of red brick Tyneside terraces, not far from the train tracks. Earlier in the day, he had seen something whizzing about in the sky and, after he tired of playing with his friends, he decided to go to his Hedley Street home around the corner. Robert, a retired window cleaner, says he was confronted by an aircraft the like of which he had never seen before. He described it as "a big egg-shaped thing surround by bright light". Robert says it was then that he spotted strange-looking creatures standing in the back lane. He says three of them were built like men, but ranged from 2ft to 4ft in height. One looked like Big Foot while another had long flowing hair and a coat that partially covered a skeletal body and bat wings. "Other children were petrified and in shock. They were trying to get over the railway, but there was barbed wire and they were getting cut and were screaming," he says. The story sounds like something from a low budget sci-fi film, but the man telling it is no attention-seeking youngster. Robert Hall is 76 and he has been telling the same story all his life. Recalling what happened, Robert says the creatures spoke to him in perfect English, with no accent, and asked if they could examine him. "I told them it was 1940 and we were at war with Germany," he says. "They took blood out of the back of my neck and put some jelly on. I kept my eyes shut. I was so frightened I was shaking." After 20 terrifying minutes, he was allowed to go. "I was up that street like a shot," he says. "My parents thought I was kidding and so did the soldiers." The next day, Robert says, two men with black suits came to the house and warned him that if he said anything, he would disappear. One close encounter would be fascinating enough, but the pensioner says things took an even more sinister turn a few days later when an alien tried to snatch him off the street. He says a grey alien, fitting the common description of an extraterrestrial with big eyes and a large head, grabbed him. "He was on me in a couple of seconds," he says. "I fell over the kerb and bashed my toe. My Uncle Ernie saw what was happening and bashed its head in with a coal shovel." The alien's body was allegedly put in a coal sack and Robert was sent to find a local policeman, Sergeant Brookes. He says the Army was called and took the body to a church. Robert says strange small triangular marks appeared on his left cheek, which remained until he was about 12 or 13, before disappearing, leaving no trace.

Researcher and broadcaster Richard Hall, who is not related to Robert, studies all things out of the ordinary for his digital television programme, The Rich Planet Starship, and richplanet.net. In 2008, he was giving a lecture on UFOs at the Caedmon Hall, in Gateshead, when he was contacted by Robert, who lives nearby. Richard, who is 43 and lives in Sunniside, but is based in Consett, says: "It is a fascinating story and it is a very, very early case in terms of modern day grey alien abductions." Richard says other abduction cases were reported in Brazil in 1957, and in the US in 1961, increasing throughout the Sixties and Seventies. There is a case of a recovered UFO in Missouri where small alien creatures were allegedly recovered and, obviously, we have got Roswell in 1947. But this predates all of that, which makes it a very interesting case." Richard carried out a three-month investigation into Robert's claims. He verified that street and shop names checked out. He also managed to confirm there was a Sgt Brookes working the area at the time. Richard says Robert's description of the creatures -- the small stature, the grey skin, the large eyes, the craft itself, elliptical shape and the metallic surface with the bright light -- are common features of alien abduction stories "There's also the fact that they tried to interfere with Robert's neck. I don't believe that they took blood, as Robert claims. They were possibly trying to put something in. Interestingly, Robert says the creatures had a short, white hand-held device which could subdue or immobilise somebody and there's the triangular marks that were left on his face. These are all things that we find in abductee cases, again and again." Robert, who has four children and three grandchildren, is sincere and earnest about his alien encounter all those years ago. Richard, who has met Robert's sister, says it is a story he has stuck to since he was a little lad. Robert says: "I got the p**s taken out of me for years, and at school the teacher would say 'there's the boy who believes in little green men'. "They weren't bloody green, they were grey. I will take it to my grave." CHINA'S SP ACE SPACE PROGRAM SHOOTS FOR MOON, MARS, VENUS July 13 2011, http://www.guardian.co.uk/ world/feedarticle/9742815
This year, a rocket will carry a boxcar-sized module into orbit, the first building block for a Chinese space station. Around 2013, China plans to launch a lunar probe that will set a rover loose on the moon. It wants to put a man on the moon, sometime after 2020. While the United States is still working out its next move after the space shuttle program, China is forging ahead. Some experts worry the U.S. could slip behind China in human spaceflight - the realm of space science with the most prestige. "Space leadership is highly symbolic of

national capabilities and international influence, and a decline in space leadership will be seen as symbolic of a relative decline in U.S. power and influence," said Scott Pace, an associate NASA administrator in the George W.Bush administration. He was a supporter of Bush's plan -- shelved by President Barack Obama -- to return Americans to the moon. China is still far behind the U.S. in space technology and experience, but what it doesn't lack is a plan or financial resources. While U.S. programs can fall victim to budgetary worries or a change of government, rapidly growing China appears to have no such constraints.
"One of the biggest advantages of their system is that they have five-year plans so they can develop well ahead," said Peter Bond, consultant editor for Jane's Space Systems and Industry."They are taking a stepby-step approach, taking their time and gradually improving their capabilities. They are putting all the pieces together for a very capable, advanced space industry." In 2003, China became the third country to send an astronaut into space on its own, four decades after the United States and Russia. In 2006, it sent its first probe to the moon. In 2008, China carried out its first spacewalk. China's space station is slated to open around 2020, the same year the International Space Station is scheduled to close. If the U.S. and its partners don't come up with a replacement, China could have the only permanent human presence in the sky. "China has lagged 20 to 40 years behind the U.S. in developing space programs and China has no intention of challenging U.S. dominance in space," said He Qisong, a professor at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. "But it is a sign of the national spirit for China to develop a space program and therefore it is of great significance for China." Some elements of China's program, notably the firing of a ground-based missile into one of its dead satellites four years ago, have alarmed American officials and others who say such moves could set off a race to militarize space. That the program is run by the military has made the U.S. reluctant to cooperate with China in space, even though the latter insists its program is purely for peaceful ends. "Space technology can be applied for both civilian and military use, but China doesn't stress the military purpose," said Li Longchen, retired editor-in-chief of Chinese magazine "Space Probe." ''It has been always hard for humankind to march into space and China
must learn the lessons from the U.S." China is not the only country aiming high in space. Russia has talked about building a base on the moon and a possible mission to Mars but hasn't set a time frame. India has achieved an unmanned orbit of the moon and plans its first manned space flight in 2016. The U.S. has no plans to return to the moon. "We've been there before," Obama said last year. "There's a lot more of space to explore." He prefers sending astronauts to land on an asteroid by 2025 and ultimately to Mars. But those plans are far from set. Instead, NASA is closing out its 30-year space shuttle era this month, leaving the U.S. dependent on hitching rides to the space station aboard Russian Soyuz capsules at a cost of $56 million per passenger, rising to $63 million from 2014. The U.S. also hopes private companies will develop spacecraft to ferry cargo and crew to the space station. China, having orbited the moon and starting collecting data on it, is moving toward sending a man there - and beyond. Chinese experts believe a moon landing will happen in 2025 at the earliest. "The lunar probe is the starting point for deep space exploration," said Wu Weiren, chief designer of China's moon-exploring program, in a 2010 interview posted on the national space agency's website. "We first need to do a good job of exploring the moon and work out the rocket, transportation and detection technology that can then be used for a future exploration of Mars or Venus." China also offers space technology to developing countries to secure access to raw materials, said Pace, now director of the Space Policy Institute at George Washington University. There may also be economic reasons to explore the moon: It contains minerals and helium-3, a potential rich source of energy through nuclear fusion. HOTSPOT FOUND ON MO ON'S F AR MOON'S FAR SIDE 25 July 2011, http://www.abc.net.au/ science/articles/2011/07/25/274891.htm
Scientists have found evidence of volcanoes on the far side of the Moon. The new discovery, reported in the journal Nature Geoscience, is a rare example of volcanism on the lunar surface not associated with asteroid, meteor or comet impact events. Until now the best known examples of volcanism were on the Moon's near side in a region known as the Procellarum KREEP terrane. A team of scientists, led by Dr Bradley Jolliff from Washington University in St Louis, used images and other data gathered by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) to assess the composition of an unusual region on the far side of the moon called the Compton-Belkovich thorium anomaly. They focused on an area containing
17
numerous domes, some more than six kilometres high. The domes featured steeply sloping sides which Jolliff and colleagues interpret as, "volcanic in origin and formed from viscous lava. We also observe circular depressions, which we suggest result from caldera collapse or volcanic vents," the researchers write. Dr Sarah Maddison, an associate professor of Astrophysics at Swinburne University in Melbourne says such a localised region of volcanism on the lunar far side is unusual. "Most of the volcanism we see on the Moon is impact related and on the near side, although we don't know why. But if it's caused by radioactive decay, then why is it limited to the one hot spot and why did it happen so much later than everywhere else on the Moon?" Geology lecturer Dr Ian Graham from the University of New South Wales says the discovery is highly significant. "It's much higher in silicon and potassium than the basaltic volcanism seen elsewhere on the Moon" says Graham. "It's also the first evidence of such young volcanic activity on the lunar surface, meaning the Moon was still geologically active just 800 million years ago, rather than 1.2 billion years ago as previously thought. It's been 42 years this month since we first walked on the Moon and we're still finding out new things. It shows there's certainly good scientific justification to send people back there."

On June 19, maritime treasure hunters - who were looking for priceless submerged hooch in shipwrecks - discovered a 60meter-diameter circle 87 meters under the Baltic Sea. At 87 meters down, between Sweden and Finland, they saw a large circle [image below], about 60 feet in diameter. Apparently there are tracks about 300 meters long leading up to the object, leading to speculation that the object has moved. So far nobody has explored the object yet, so hopefully we'll be learning more about this as the story develops.

24 July 2011, http://www.newsmax.com/ Newsfront/human-animal-hybrids-britain/ 2011/07/24/id/404671
British scientists have created more than 150 human-animal hybrid embryos -- known as "cybrids" -- in laboratories over the last three years, the British Daily Mail reported. The purpose is to look for cures for a wide range of diseases, but the revelation comes just a day after a group of prestigious scientists warned of a "Planet of the Apes" scenario in which work on human-animal creations goes too far. The Daily Mail reported that it had documented 155 "admixed" embryos containing both human and animal genetic material. The research is the result of a 2008 law, the 2008 Human Fertilization Embryology Act, which permits the creation of a variety of hybrids, including an animal egg fertilized by a human sperm. Another creation is known as a "chimera" - human cells mixed with animal embryos. Josephine Quintavalle, of the British pro-life group Comment on Reproductive Ethics, said: "I am aghast that this is going on and we didn't know anything about it. Why have they kept this a secret? If they are proud of what they are doing, why do we need to ask Parliamentary questions for this to come to light?" CROP CIRCLES 'PHYSICS, NOT ALIENS'
Those otherworldly crop circles may not have been caused by aliens after all. Instead, think physics: A study in Physics World points to the possibility that the patterns could be caused by Earth-bound microwaves, lasers, and GPS. Maybe. Formations in fields have been documented more than 10,000 times in the late 20th century. They have been credited to everything from paranormal activity to human hijinks to the weather--and in some cases, even wallabies. Further fuelling the mystery is that the farmland designs are done in secret, usually in the dark--and often by jokers who want to make it seem like Martians were at work. What's confounded scientists is trying to explain just how the art is done without any marks left by the makers, all typically in just one night. The question led researcher Richard Taylor of the University of Oregon to rule out at least some traditional explanations of the tools involved in creating the circles. Taylor contends that in the modern age, planks and ropes (to flatten plants) and even bar stools to jump from one area to another undetected, are just too cumbersome to produce results in the comparatively brief period of their creative incubation. Instead, he argued that latter-day crop-circle auteurs use high-tech gadgets such as GPS monitors to place the
shapes and magnetrons (tubes that use electricity and magnetism to generate intense heat) to cause the crop stalks to fall over at high speed. Can any of this speculation be proven? Not really--at least not until a certified cropcircle fabricator steps forward to claim responsibility and reveal the various tricks of the trade. But as Matin Durrani, editor of Physics World, put it, at least Taylor gives us an explanation that doesn't hinge on the handiwork of alien life forms. Taylor "is merely trying to act like any good scientist-examining the evidence for the design and construction of crop circles without getting carried away by the side-show of UFOs, hoaxes, and aliens," Durrani writes. But all the speculation over the origins of these works of art designed for the aerial viewer shouldn't obscure the central nature of their achievement:They are, in a word, crop-tastic. FALCON HTV -2 HTV-2 AST SUPERFAST GOES SUPERF - AND THEN GOES AWOL August 12 http://www.news.com.au/technology/ sci-tech/falcon-htv-2-goes-superfast-andthen-goes-awol/story-fn5fsgyc1226113495883
The hypersonic plane that's so fast it could make the Sydney-London leg in less than an hour has gone AWOL. The Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 was launched successfully into space from a US Air Force base in California but ground crews lost contact with it about 36 minutes into the flight. Embarrassingly, it is the second Falcon the US military has lost. An HTV-2 flown last year returned about nine minutes of data before contact was lost. According to the flight plan, the unmanned aircraft was supposed to reenter the atmosphere, manoeuvre at Mach 20 - about 21,000km/h - and then dive into the Pacific Ocean near Kwajalein Atoll. The test was intended to increase the technical knowledge necessary for a long-duration hypersonic flight. Engineers had made several adjustments to the aircraft since its first flight, including shifting its centre of gravity and decreasing the angle flown. The purpose of the project to allow the US military to hit targets anywhere in the world in under an hour, known as Conventional Prompt Global Strike.
