Here are some ideas to help prepare your mind, body, and emotions for finals: •

We want to give a big thank you to Joe McLain, resident manager of Area 1, who chased down the elusive rooster that has been living near buildings E and F for many weeks. He caught the rooster—”Blackie”— without injuring it, and Blackie’s owner was thrilled to find out that she could finally take her pet back to the farm.

Nice job Joe!

Spring Cleaning May is the perfect month to begin spring cleaning! Time spent cleaning your apartment can help prevent infestation of bugs that often accompany the warmer weather and can save you from potential cleaning charges when you check out of Family and Graduate Housing. Here are some cleaning tips for FGH apartments. STOVE: To remove material from the top surface elements, wait until they are completely cool and clean with a brush. Remove and wash drip pans with mild detergent solution. Remember to lift the top of your range to clean the area under the drip pans. It can be locked into place with the two hold up rods. OVEN: Remove all articles and

TOILET, TUB & SHOWER: Comet Dust works well to disinfect the toilet, and it prevents chlorine gas. Also use a calcium, lime, and rust remover. Clean mildew from damp areas with a strong bleach such as Purex or Clorox. Do not use this bleach for the toilet. A bleach pen works great for the grout lines in the shower tiles. WALLS, DOORS, & WINDOWS: Dust around walls and windows to remove cobwebs. Don’t forget outside your

FLOORS: Sweep and mop. Use a dampened steel wool soap pad to remove scuff marks from tile. HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING UNITS: Wipe off the outside of the heating units and air conditioners with a damp cloth. Clean the air conditioner top grill and control panel. It is not necessary to clean the air conditioner filter. FRIDGE: Wash and dry inside and outside, including shelves and doors.
