ATHENS Located in the southeastern United States, Athens has grown alongside the University of Georgia and its students for the past two centuries. TRANSNATIONAL LAW PROGRAM Study at a Major Research University in the United States

The Transnational Law Program is a learning initiative of the University of Georgia School of Law’s Dean Rusk Center for International Law and Policy. It is geared toward bringing junior lawyers and law students from around the world to study at the law school’s campus for one to two weeks, offering a tailored curriculum and exposure to the American legal system. The courses and duration of each program are designed in collaboration with the foreign institutions bringing students to Georgia Law. The program offers students not just the opportunity to learn, but also the chance to experience academic and campus life at a major research university.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS • Distinguished professors teach international law, human rights, international and U.S. environmental law, corporate law, criminal law and constitutional law among other subjects.

• All courses are taught in English.

• Students have access to the Alexander Campbell King Law Library, which has one of the largest foreign law library collections in the southeastern United States.

• Students are invited to join the Georgia Society for Comparative and International Law to network professionally with UGA students.

• Students will have the opportunity to visit local courts.

• Sightseeing opportunities include places of interest in Athens, Atlanta and the North Georgia mountains.

Established in 1859, the school offers three degrees – the Juris Doctor, the Master of Laws and the Master in the Study of Law – and is home to the renowned Dean Rusk Center for International Law and Policy. To date, Georgia Law graduates include 11 governors, numerous U.S. and state senators and representatives as well as scores of distinguished federal and state judges, prominent attorneys and corporate leaders.

A challenging curriculum and accomplished professors and scholars dedicated to teaching the theoretical foundations of law make Georgia Law an excellent place to expand one’s legal studies.
