NEW YORK CITY COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY
ACADEMIC COMPLEX T
he project is a new state of the art academic complex for The City of New York College of Technology.
An energy analysis model is generated which in turn informs the design of the buildings sunscreen system.
A rigorous site study enabled the creation of a building envelope that is in compliance with city building codes and zoning ordinances for this special district in Brooklyn. One of the objectives in the design of the structure is incorporating design solutions that promote the buildings efficiency throughout its lifecycle. 2 4

The building is demarcated into three major sectors, (1) the tower (2) the atrium (3) the auditorium/ gymnasium.
The design of the roof is mirrored along the horizontal creating a visual symmetry and a common structural language.
The visual accent of the building is the 6 thin shell concrete hypar roof. The geometry of the hyperbolic paraboliod roof structure is such that the interior of the gymnasium and auditorium require little structural support in the form of traditional beams and columns, thereby creating a double and triple height space in part, with an open floor plan.

CITYRACKS CAMPAIGN T
he objective of the CITYRACKS project, initiated by the New York City Department of Transportation and the CooperHewitt National Design Museum is to promote cycling as a sustainable, mainstream transportation option in lieu of the environmetal goals of PlaNYC 2030. My proposal is a minimalist approach that incorporates a sculptural
element in its design and configuration. It is functional and accesible and does not obstruct the flow of pedestrian traffic. The construction is derived from the circumference of the stancard bicycle wheel. The stainless steel disc is welded onto stems of varying heights.

COMMERCIAL BUILDOUT
RAWBAR
Rawbar is a retail store located in the downtown district of
Brooklyn New York known as Fulton street--a notorious pedestrian marketplace, populated by a vast array of shopping centers. The subject building is pre-existing and therefore the intervetion on the site is in the form of a build out of the previous business (an optometrist) and transforming the space into a juice bar. Deveopmental stages of the project included the creation of a moodboard to express the intent of the space and a logo that would be energetic and inviting.

The project undergoes several itirations as it is developed and presented for review. In it’s final stages the space of the interior houses a dwarf citrus tree on the sublevel of the store. The planter in which the tree is set utilizes a hydrophollic geotextile drainage system equipped with an organic growing medium.
