Personal Statement My background in the discipline of architectural technology should suggest that aside from a natural disposition toward design that is inclusive, I am also concerned with the more pragmatic aspects dealing with problem solving, the consumption of material resources and the regenerative or sustainable implementations of design in new and existing/retrofitted constructs. Moreover I am most interested in the ways in which the built environment may engender economic and social growth cross-culturally. At this point in my education I am in search of learning opportunities that are somewhat removed from the traditional confines of academia—opportunities that I expect will facilitate an immersion into the more professional sectors of industry, technology, and commerce, while generating a forum that encourages interaction with professionals in these fields. It is my intent to learn as much as I can of successful practices that may be adopted in other parts of the world, to bolster the educational, municipal and private infrastructure of the Developing World. While years in different undergraduate architecture studios have made me adept in a range of working environments (from the communal or team oriented, to a self managed project setting), I am encouraged by my ability to quickly and precisely convey my ideas through various mediums and would very much like to continue to improve upon this crucial skill.

VORONOI TOWER COURSE : VISUAL STUDIES II INSTRUCTOR: PROFESSOR GORDON PROJECT DURATION : 4.5 WEEKS
THIS COURSE COMBINES TECHNICAL DRAWING SKILLS WITH TECHNICAL DESIGN PROWESS AND DIGITAL FABRICATION. THIS FOUR AND A HALF WEEK EXERCISE CULMINATES IN THE GENERATION OF AN IMAGINATIVE SUPERSTRUCTURE THAT IS A FUTURISTIC TOWER. 03

HORIZONTAL PLANAR CUTS THROUGH SEGMENTS OF THE GENERATED TOWER WILL INFORM THE BUILDINGS CIRCULATION AND AN OPEN FLOOR PLAN. THIS UNIQUE MODE OF ANALYZING HOW THE BUILDING MAY BETTER FUNCTION FOR ITS USERS IS GREATLY DEPENDENT ON THE WAY THE STUDY MODEL WAS DEVELOPED THROUGH ITS DIFFERENT ITERATIONS.
04
THE PROCESS OF GENERATING THE PHYSICAL MODEL USES A VECTOR BASED TEMPLATE WITH RHINOCEROS GRASSHOPPER. THE PROCESS INITIALLY GENERATED 47 UNIQUE PIECES, 24 OF WHICH WERE THEN SELECTED ON THE BASIS OF AESTHETIC CONFIGURATION AND PLACED ONTO SAID TEMPLATES.
