Dove That Brings Peace

The design intent for a 1-storey crematorium in Vilnius is to create a building that emphasizes a gentle ascending movement as a dove which is symbol of peace and soul. With its purity and calmness, the dove conveys a sensual energy that surrounds people with atmosphere for tranquility and meditation. The planning layout draws inspiration from the natural existing relief with main roads’ axis and water reservoir. This project accentuates the beauty of nature and uses it as various zones for peace and concentration.

In essence, the design is a unique architectural composition that not only stands out with its aesthetics, but also with the variety of integrated places for everyone’s needs.

Children Learn By Playing

The new 2-storey kindergarten in Balsiai is designed to provide a large space where children are encouraged to cooperate, play together and communicate. The overall volume draws inspiration from ‘PUZZLE’ where separated pieces connect and are emphasized as a one solid space with multi-functional areas that can be transformed depending on children needs and activity purpose. The inner half-opened courtyard brings outdoors to the interior space that stimulates free movement in the overall area.
