Letter from the PRESIDENT

Dear Graduates:

On behalf of the entire University of Houston-Clear Lake community, I extend my warmest congratulations to you on this momentous occasion. Today marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, and it is an honor to celebrate your achievements with you.

As you leave this campus, I encourage you to be confident in your power to overcome any challenge that comes your way. The world is full of obstacles and uncertainties, but you have been equipped with the skills and knowledge to tackle them head-on. Remember that you are capable of achieving greatness, and do not let anyone or anything hold you back from realizing your full potential.

While graduation is a recognition of individual commitment and effort, it is also an acknowledgment of others. I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the people who have helped you on your journey. Your family, friends, professors, and mentors have all played a vital role in supporting and guiding you throughout your time at this university. Without their unwavering support, you would not be here today.

As a graduate, you join over 75,000 Hawks who came before you. I urge you to stay connected to your alma mater and to be an active member of our alumni community. You are now part of a network of accomplished graduates who are making a difference in their communities and around the world. I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities that being an active alumni can bring, whether it be through networking, volunteering, or giving back to the university.

Remember that you are well-prepared to face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Your education has equipped you with the skills, knowledge, and experiences that will serve you well in whatever path you choose to pursue. I have no doubt that you will continue to make us proud and I cannot wait to see all that you will accomplish in the years to come.

Once again, congratulations on this incredible achievement. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Go Hawks!

Sincerely,

Richard Walker, Ed.D. President
