AN ATMOSPHERE FOR LEARNING With more than 40 years of educating astronauts, Olympians, scientists, engineers, educators and entrepreneurs in the hub of Houston’s science, medical and technology community, UHCL is the place to launch your career.

A Growing Campus UHCL opened two new buildings in 2018, which provide new opportunities for Hawks. Students meet their wellness goals with intramural sports, indoor track and basketball courts in the Recreation and Wellness Center. In the STEM and Classroom Building, students gain firsthand training in state-of-the-art labs for mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry and more. A residence hall is scheduled to open in fall 2019.

LAUNCH YOUR CURIOSITY TO NEW HEIGHTS Our 45-plus undergraduate degree programs give you options to explore your interests and define your future career so you graduate with valuable experience. But we know a degree is more than a piece of paper. That’s why learning does not end in the classroom. Education has taken UHCL Hawks around the world to places like Oman to study different cultures, and to the nation’s capital to work in the Library of Congress in support of educators. Many courses incorporate service projects that get you out of the classroom and into the community, exposing you to new ideas and enriching your learning experience. With more than 20 centers and institutes across multiple academic areas, you have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on innovative research to improve our world. Students have worked on ways to increase safety for industrial employees, collaborated on how to help individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, and educated young minds about cybersecurity.

UHCL’s first on-campus residence hall will give you the best access to campus resources, and offer a place to relax and recharge in modern and stylish housing. The 80,000-square-foot facility will include suite-style rooms with two bedrooms connected by a bathroom. These funds are awarded based on your financial need. Awards can be in the form of grants, workstudy programs and low-interest loans. Your eligibility is determined by information from FAFSA. The Hawk Advantage Scholarship is a needbased scholarship for recent high school graduates to help cover costs of tuition, fees and books. The award provides up to $2,500 per year and can be renewed for three additional years.
