Experiential Learning Because the world is our classroom, you’ll gain the competitive advantage you need to lead.

Experiential learning is our hallmark, and we want you to experience it all! Yes, you will sit in traditional classrooms and take notes, but you won’t just read about the beverage industry – you’ll actually brew beer in our beverage lab, and learn how to pair wine with food in our wine appreciation class. You won’t just listen to a lecture about event planning, you’ll produce one. Here are just a few examples of the kinds of hands-on experiences you can expect to have here.

Class Trips – Soak in the beauty and tastes of the wineries and vineyards of Napa and Sonoma with behind-the-scenes VIP access; immerse yourself in the business of agave spirits and learn how to make tequila in Guadalajara; tour the high-roller suites and back-of-house operations, including the surveillance monitoring of table games, and meet executives at major casino resorts on the Las Vegas strip; indulge in culinary tours and participate in the annual National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago for an in-depth look at the restaurant industry; and compete in the Hilton Hospitality Olympics while attending the annual HX: Hotel Experience show in New York City… You get the idea!

10

Internships – Interested in going to Ireland, Spain, Costa Rica, Dubai or Africa? NYC, DC, LA, Boston or Seattle? Just ask! We work with employers in town, across the country and at destinations throughout the world to help you find the right opportunity.

UH Hilton Internships – Work or intern in the same building where you take classes to gain real world experience in guest services, hotel operations, housekeeping, banquets, sales and events, or revenue management.
