New Study Assistance for Teens at the Library March sees the introduction of two new sessions aimed at giving teens a helping hand with homework and study. Homework Zone is for secondary school students (13-18 years) to work together and use Library resources to complete school projects, held on the third Tuesday of every month in the teens’ area. A quiet Study Zone has also been set aside every weekday from 3.15 – 5.30pm in the Rotary Lounge to give students undistracted homework time after school.

Upper Hutt Author Bytes Towards 2015 Ngaio Marsh Award Congratulations to local thriller writer and Library volunteer Cat Connor. Her novel Databyte is on the longlist for the 2015 Ngaio Marsh Award for Best Crime Novel. Databyte is the sixth book in her ‘Byte’ series — The seventh, Eraserbyte, will be launched at the Upper Hutt City Library on April 10th this year. Cat hosts our very popular creative writing workshop, A Writer’s Plot, fortnightly on Saturdays in the Rotary Lounge.
