during the holocaust of W WII. A harrowing true story and one of the most compelling reads ever! I have been an avid reader from an early age. Over the last decade I have developed a passion for historical fiction and/or nonfiction, with Diana Gabaldon perhaps being my favourite author. My passion for historical writing is reflected in the first two of my three book choices, with my third choice being from the fantasy fiction genre. The boy who followed his father into Auschwitz by Jeremy Dronfield is the story of a working class Jewish family from Vienna and their story of survival

The Last Train by Sue Lawrence is a historical fiction, woven over a century, steeped in Scottish history and with a modern-day mystery twist. A book you cannot put down! The Passage by Justin Cronin, not a genre I usually read but thoroughly enjoyed and cannot wait to read the next book in this trilogy – The Twelve. This is a post-apocalyptic vampire fantasy, about an American project to engineer a race of super-beings which backfires and almost brings the human race to near-extinction. An absolute epic read!
