WHY SHOULD I ATTEND? By attending a New Student Orientation (NSO) session, you will: Gain insight and get helpful advice from current students Be given the opportunity to interact with a NSO leader (who is also a current UHM student) Get the 411 on the ins and outs of campus on a tour designed for you by an NSO leader Get a chance to meet other students new to UHM like yourself! Learn about how to schedule your classes, get involved and make the most of your time here Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and snacks
CAN MY PARENTS ATTEND? Yes! A separate orientation session just for parents is also offered as a part of NSO. These parent sessions are held on the same date and at the same time as our 1 day student sessions. What do parents get from attending? Advice on navigating this new phase in your relationship as you both become members of the UHM community Opportunities to meet with current students, staff and faculty members The ability to ask questions and get answers regarding campus resources and programs Go on a comprehensive campus tour The opportunity to meet and converse with other parents!
HOW DO I SIGN UP? RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND! Please note that there is a nominal fee to attend NSO. Registration is done completely online @ www.hawaii.edu/nso Visit the NSO website beginning mid-April for more information about pricing and session dates. Attendance is not mandatory, but is highly recommended and encouraged.
